Gives you the confidence to adventure into fascinating parts of the city. The maps could be clearer and in at least two instances are incorrect in minor ways, but getting lost and then getting back on track (usually) enriches the experience. Mr Humphreys is obviously in love with the city, and his enthusiasm for it and its people is infectious. I love the way he notices small details, such as the '...mailbox of a Mr Prasanta Banerjee [that] proclaims him to be a Professor of Magic'.
Beautifully written. A superb book.
