Product Description

CD Description

The third album from the Glasgow based AOR act STRANGEWAYS, although not quite up to the awesome standard of their previous album Native Sons , is still a fine piece of work that ranks comfortably alongside anything that was coming from across the Atlantic at the time. Terry Brock had made a very successful career out of singing backing vocals on some of the biggest albums of the period, including for Journey & Foreigner. His voice complements the band s sound perfectly. Released here in a remastered form with expanded artwork, sleeve notes from Classic Rock magazine s Dave Ling and with two previously unreleased bonus tracks, this is the best this album has ever looked or sounded.

MISSING CLASSIC 24 Oct 2011
By oktc
Format:Audio CD
This is a classic that may have got through the net. This band were the british answer to journey. And answer is what they did. Both this album and 'native sons' are must haves in your collection if AOR/MELODIC ROCK are your thing. This band with gigantic balladeering vocals by terry brock are at times better than somethings journey did, as the production is more simple. This band could have been on the world stage if terry brock hadn't left for a more lucrative roll with deep purple(which fell through). They are now back with a new album which should have been part 3 but with a moderate production somewhat dissapoined. This album still has its classics with 'Time' really standing out. Buy 'Stangeways live at firefest' to give you an insight into this band continuing to buy the other 3, but not the rest of strangways albums as the appeal without brock is indeed limited!

BUY IT 25 July 2011

If Journey is your thing, Strangeways are a band you may have not discovered, but should have, as they are a band which this album along with Native Sons are as equally matched to Escape and Frontiers in my view. Strangways lead singer Terry Brocks vocals. similar to Steve Perry, but possibly a little more versatile belts out rockers as well as power ballads. This album has it all, with well produced, quality anthems which do really hit home making you wonder why Strangeways are not as famous as there american cousins. A british band with an american singer who has a good pedigree of working with top musicians and will never be short of work, but they should have an agent who can give them the respect that they deserve and lift them up to playing arenas not clubs!
Now start building your Strangeways collection, Terry Brock collection journeys got loads of money.
