Waking the dead series 2 maintains the series high quality, being even better than its first outing. There is not one bad episode on this four disc set. It contains all four stories from series 2. the interplay between the characters is really good in this series; especially the chemistry with Boyd (Trevor Eve) and Grace (Sue Johnston.) We can also see Spence and Mel becoming closer and Frankie really gets involved also. The cold case team reopen four more cases, and they are all brill.
The first episode "Life Sentence" was really gripping, gaining a rating of "Excellent." The plot is fantastic in this one nad the villian actor is superb - one of the best.
Episode two "Deathwatch" is the weakest of the four stories, being too convulted, but it got "Good." This was quite a nice installment in the series and you were constantly guessing and learnt more as the story unfolded. Not my favourite, but still great.
The third two-part story is absoloutely fantastic. "Special Relationship" achieved the rating of "Excellent", it was really well done and it was really hard to work out what was going on and who was killing as there were so many to choose from.
And now we come to one of the best in the series, the final story "Thin Air" is faultless. It got "Outstanding", which is the highest rating. The story, the acting, the character development, the twists and story-telling was at its best here. Top-notch Waking the dead, I was totally enthralled.
I loved this series of Waking the dead and hope for the third series to be even better! You can't get enough of these shows, you may find yourself wathcing several discs a day. Waking the dead is crime drama at its finest, with a direct approach to deduction and evidence. This show is on par with "Wire in the blood", I can't seperate the two (I have done a review on the Wire in the blood complete box set.) Just buy thsi show, buy the whole series, I can't get enough of it...
