He'd been a witness to her husband's infidelity, a piece of her past that she'd hoped to leave behind her when she'd moved. Artful Illusions has been contracted with Futex for the past six months, so far she's managed to avoid running into Jason. However, her luck has run out when purely by chance, he happens to be eating lunch at the same restaurant and overhears the Artful Illusions partners' topic of choice - Annabel's lack of a sex life. Now that she's single and he knows where to find her, he can launch an all-out attack to ensure Annabel gives in to both of their desires. Annabel knows that Jason is out of her league. He's dangerous to her self-control. If Jason truly wants her, he's going to have to work a lot harder than he imagined.

Jayelle Drewry's WAKING ANNABEL is a thrilling story about a woman who reinvents herself after an ugly divorce. Annabel is a character I adored. She not only catches her husband cheating, but the way she lets him know that he's been caught without making a huge scene is just awesome. She's a strong woman with long hidden desires that Jason longs to explore. Jason's pursuit of Annabel is very funny. Nothing works until he turns up the heat and exerts a bit of his dominance. This is a wonderful heart-touching story that readers will enjoy reading many times over.

It is fairly slow to get started, but once it gets past the necessary plot build up wow. Now I am fairly jaded and prefer lots of sex and S&M in these types of books, so plot is always a secondary consideration. This book actually has a decent plot, guess too many people rush straight to the sex and do little to build up the story. Those are usually the novels that are a dime a dozen, this one isn't one of those. I am not finished with it but already I am contemplating looking up the rest of the books by this author. I noticed another reviewer said terrible plot and that the book was embarrassing which I suppose the content of most erotic novels would be especially those dancing on the edge of romance and BDSM. So it is her loss but I was hooked. For those looking for a light BDSM love story and some decent sex scenes that build up your own arousal till you and Annabel both find release at the same time then this is a great book. If you are looking however for the typical sanitised romance novel with nothing more than passionate kisses then keep moving.

This book was embarrassing. My friend recommended it and I think she's crazy. I threw it away. The plot was poor.
