This series was shown on Norwegian television in the early 90s, and I fell head over heels in love with it. You may marvel at the ineptitude and plain stupitity of Harvey Nigel Baines, or feel sympathetic towards the un-lovely, but lovely, Jane, played to perfection by Janine Duvitsky.

But, no matter how you slice it, the heart - or should that be hearts? - of the series must be the wonderful Diana Trent and Tom Ballard. Stephanie Cole steals every scene she´s in, and that means almost all of them, and her one-liners and flights of fancy are a wonder to behold.

I have watched BBC release obscure series after obscure series, and enjoyed quite a lot of them, but Waiting For God is one of the best comedy series they ever made, up there with To The Manor Born, Open All Hours and Yes, (Prime) Minister.

I am overjoyed to finally get these episodes on DVD. I couldn´t be happier.

Fabulous show hope they keep bringing the rest of series out it is a great show and full of laughts the lead roles played very well and i love harvey he is such a cad and dim witted jane fits the part particulary well

My enjoyment of this DVD was spoiled by the poor setup of the DVD features. When some episodes are selected, they do not start at the beginning, and at the end they restart (again not at the begining) rather than return to the menu. I have a number of other BBC DVDs, and this is the first one with this problem.
