Great pictorial guide using Wainwrights original drawings for 18 walks. Taken from the BBC and Granada tv series. Accompanied by detailed but simple descriptions of what to expect during the walks. Good selection of fell walks from each direction of the Lake District.

I found this to be really, really good. Although I have not seen any of the TV series this did not prevent me from enjoying this book. In fact it left me wanting the whole series of his books.
I used this to plan a recent ten hour walk to Scafell Pike and will no doubt use it to plan future walks.

This is a brilliant 'beginners guide' and will ensure full enjoyment of just a few of Wainwright's walks. For anyone who has loved the TV series it is essential!
