Product Description

Eric Robson joins the master fellwalker and shares the highlights of his 190 mile walk from St. Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay on the North Yorkshire coast. This classic, but unofficial, long distance was devised by WAINWRIGHT in 1972 and traversed what AW described as "the grandest territory in the North of England". Two thirds of the route life within three National Parks and today AW's achievement is regarded by discerning walkings as the finest long trek in Britain.

5.0 out of 5 stars WAINWRIGHT'S COAST TO COAST 28 Jun 2009
Format:DVD
Very enjoyable viewing for all lovers of Wainwright walks and who wants to know about Wainwright the man. Eric Robson is the perfect companion on the walk. Also enjoyable viewing for those that don't go walking. Really worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well done AW! 3 Nov 2009

Excellent re-issue of the TV series. I think that the original five episodes from St Bees Head to Robin Hood's Bay must have been cut to fit the 113 minutes running time. Highlights used by Julia Bradbury in her recent version of the same walk.

5.0 out of 5 stars the master himself does the C2C 18 Sep 2010
Format:DVD
This makes nice relaxed viewing, both as a way of remembering the walk and to get a feel for it before you go. But, the great things for me were hearing how Wainwright himself decided the route, and to get his insights into the history behind many of the places you pass though.
