The Wahl James Martin Spice Grinder has been beautifully designed to be practical and versatile. It will grind dry herbs and spices to release maximum flavour allowing you to cook mouth watering dishes. As well as allowing you to grind approx 45 grams of spices or coffee beans the Wahl James Martin Spice Grinder has a unique spice attachment that can be used when you need to effectively grind even the smallest quantities of herbs and spices. This enables you to grind what you require when you need it, for maximum flavour and no wastage.
The easily removable grinding bowl can be detached and cleaned after use, this will reduce staining and lingering flavours and allow you to use for a wide variety of grinding. The bowl lid and spice attachment are both dishwasher safe. I spent ages trying to find the right spice grinder. Previously had a DeLonghi coffee grinder but I didn't like the fact that you couldn't wash it out.... this was one of my key criteria. I do not use it for coffee but grind a lot of different spices.
I've had this product for a month and it has performed really well. I like the fact that you can take out the bowl and blade and shove it in the dishwasher. It has a neat insert which allows you to grind small quantities. I also find it useful if I want a really fine powder. If you leave the insert off then you generally get a rougher grind.
It pulses when you press the button which prevents you grinding too far or over-heating the device. Today I ground dried chillies which are a little tacky and it ground them to a nice even size. It works great on whole spices, even a stick of cinnamon. I haven't tried whole dried turmeric yet (which killed my last grinder) but I think if I break it up first it should work.
It has a short lead (which all of these products seem to suffer from) but if you pull down the bottom section and you can wind the cable around the base then push it up again for storing neatly.
On the whole, I've very pleased with this product.

My first thoughts were what's this attachment for? And the capacity doesn't look very large.
But once I worked it out and realised that I could grind a single dried chilli using the attachment (something my last grinder couldn't do) then remove the bowl wash it and then grind other spices or coffee I was converted.
I must say the bowl capacity is not massive but if you use it without the attachment there is plenty of space for grinding spice mixes, seeds or coffee etc for my families needs.

I recently purchased one of these and was really impressed with how quickly my linseed was ground up into a fine powder. I was told to increase my child's fibre intake and omega intake so linseed was a great way of grinding it down and hiding it into my allready cooked food, especially as my child is on a gluten free diet. I was so impressed with this grinder, only after a few seconds all the linseed was ground finely and the apparatus is very easily cleaned. Linseed has a slight stickiness to it as there is a little oil in each seed, when finely powdered, but it had no problem dealing with this.

Good bit of kit
