I bought this kettle a month ago and am very happy with my purchase. It looks great in my kitchen and looks much more expensive than the price I paid for it on Amazon.
Positive: Very stylish, although the kettle is mostly made of plastic it feels more sturdy than most plastic kettles, probably due to the brushed stainless steel incorporated into the base. It boils very quickly and efficiently. Handle feels comfortable. Lid feels very strong, considering its plastic. Easy to fill from the spout so you don't need to lift the lid at all. Very large capacity, haven't needed to fill it yet, so you can save energy as the sight gauge is very clear and shows the actual water level (not the silly floating ball measures you can get). The best features over my old kettle are: 1)the way it pours, the spout forms a very neat V shape and it doesn't spill a drop, no matter how far you tip it! 2) As mentioned in other reviews, its so quiet when boiling you hardly notice it, definitely stealth like. The Wahl kettle does not overboil as my Breville one used to, again saving energy.
Negatives: (Not many, just a few minor points). In comparison to my old kettle (a Breville), the base does not rotate 360 degrees and the kettle is not illuminated during boiling. These are cool features but not necessary for the function, so no reason not to buy. My old kettle was incredibly noisy, whereas the Wahl is not, although boils almost as quickly. The lid on the Breville was a separate piece which was nice, rather than being hinged like the Wahl, but as you do not have to lift the lid to fill the Wahl this is not a problem. Plus, the Wahl kettle is about a quarter of the price. Overall, highly recommended.
