I have bought this blender, and it works wonderfully for baby food. However, when you wash the item, water gets stuck in the black top and stays there, there is no way of getting it out, and the water has now gone off and smells really horrible. this is obviously a design fault... can someone do anything about this. I love the blender, but the water getting in when washing is a real nightmare.

I agree with the previous reviews who complain about the inability to wash the lid of the chopper in the dishwasher. It's 2009. If something is designed to be handwashed only it should be put in huge letters on the front of the box. I have never had trouble getting the trapped water out of the lid but it's always an annoyance to remember to do it.
As for the actual machine itself, it's great! Very powerful. It makes a 5 litre pot of vegetable into soup in about 20 seconds. I can't fault the actual body of the appliance itself, only the lid of the chopper.
I aslo got a stainless steel jug with mine which is fabulous for making smoothies. It feels much more secure and sturdy than any plastic could.

Only wanted a replacement hand blender but got a bargain by getting a mini chopper too.
