Product Description

Product Description

At 27, Neil Mansell was working as a Business Development Manager in London, dissatisfied and frustrated with his job. By 30, he was earning enough from his property portfolio to leave that job. He has since become one of the UK’s leading experts on cash positive property investing, and now mentors and supports others in their quest for financial security and a better quality of life.

This book is Neil’s story of how he made the transition from corporate life to running his own highly profitable property business. In it, he charts his fears, how he overcame the challenges that faced him and shares the moments that made all the difference between failure and success.

Updated for 2014 with 4 new chapters, bringing the story up to the present day, Neil continues in his journey and development in the world of property investing. He shares how he has changed his strategy and goals to keep moving with the changing market and to keep his own interest in moving on to bigger and better things.

More About the Author

Neil Mansell has been investing in property in Chelmsford since the end of 2005 and presently has a highly cash positive property portfolio in the Essex area.

Desite having a keen interest in property and being insipred by the property programmes he saw on TV, Neil never had the confidence to get into property and make that first huge step onto the property ladder. Despite going on a number of courses and seminars Neil knew he needed a more one to one approach and found a mentor to show him the right way to buy properties.

In 2005, Neil, a Business Studies graduate, was working as a Business Development Manager in London, earning £35k and dissatisfied with his job. He bought his first investment property in late 2005 and spent the next 13 months building up his property business part-time. By January 2007, he was able to give up his job and move into investing full time, as the surplus rental income from his properties had matched his salary.

When the Platinum Property Partners (PPP) franchise launched in 2007, Neil joined as one of the first ten Foundation Partners. Neil now employs staff, which allows him to spend more time concentrating on finding new properties and developing and diversifying his portfolio.

As a mentor, he has been in approximately 40 different towns and cities around the UK and viewed around 1500 properties during one to one mentoring with new investors helping them to understand the same model of investing that Neil has used. Alongside this Neil is continuing to grow his own portfolio, while supporting others in establishing theirs.

Outside of property, Neil enjoys working with a personal trainer to maintain his health and fitness as well as spinning, boxing training and golf. He has done a skydive and completed the 3 Peaks Challenge for charity, and took part in the 2010 London Marathon to raise money for Barnardo's.

Having being involved in property for over 25 years it was quite refreshing to find a book on the subject which is highly readable, interesting & honest. I would definitely recommend this book as a 'must read' to anyone that is considering getting into the market.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short on specifics 30 Dec 2011

An interesting read if you are into the topic of property. However, this is not a book with specific details on financing and business models for property investing, you will not be an expert on how to enter the property investment market on finishing this book. This is more of an informal description of the authors life. I haven't learnt much more than I already knew about the property market or investing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Food for your inspiration ! 3 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Neil has tried to inspire via the story of his transition from the rat race to financial freedom. In the process giving his practical model of how he got there. The information is useful & the speed with which he completed the transition leads me to think I could do this!

There is a negative in that there was not one figure in the book. In particular the amount of capital Neil started with ? Would have liked to see some case studies to illustrate success of the model.

In addition, it was holistic advert for mentorship in property investment, which is fine as I agree after reading the book !

Overall, honest and helpful insight into transition out of the rat race and into financial freedom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring read 23 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Within the last year I have read about 20 property investment books, some very good and some a complete waste of time. This is the first one I felt obliged to write a review on. Not only is Neil's writing style extremely addictive and easy to read, he is genuine in all he says and cleary has the knowledge to back it up.
Yes the book is more of a story of how he became so successful and the path that he took. It is not and nor does he try to advise the reader to follow a particular strategy, he is simply putting into words his inspiring story which in turn makes you want to go out there and take action; isn't that why we buy property investment books?!

Great read, really does what it says on the tin. Inspirational story of overcoming the fear that stops the majority of individuals from ever really achieving financial freedom, including very useful information.

I wish I read this book a year ago.

Neil's book is his story from starting from the (JOB) to getting a professional HMO's Strategy set up.

If you wish to get the right property strategy to replace your job. HMO's can do this.

There are a lot of seminars/ courses on property investing but what neil states is that
he truly moved himself forward once he got a property investment mentor.

With the right Knowledge, strategy, mentor & determination he propelled himself to financial freedom.

Its a quick read & worth anyones money if your serious about property investing.

Good Luck.

Actually maybe my expectations about book were too high, but DO NOT buy this book if you want to understand how property market works, what is needed to begin and how to do it, what would be good strategy, what are the common pitfalls, how the things might go wrong and how to avoid them. The author does not provide detailed information and completely omits the dark sides of property investment business but instead talks all time about success, mentoring, state of mind...blah...blah...blah...other marketing&psychological&PR rubbish. In fact book was cheap so I should not be disappointed, I got what I pay for - marketing brochure...but there are other better books for similar price. Summarizing this book is a lost of time especially if you have read other books about this subject.
