This book is a travel journal recording the events of Frank Johnson's visit to Japan which occurred between 1977 and 1979. On most days, formal martial arts training lasted arounded 5 hours per day. Whilst training in Japan Sensei Johnson also successfully graded for higher black belt recognition. During this time, the author gained a 2nd Dan black belt grade in the separate (but related) art of Kobudo, which teaches the use of traditional weaponry. This book is recommended reading for general reader - martial arts practitioner or not.
