    5.0 out of 5 stars Transforms a designers life! 22 April 2009

Having tried an Intuos3 (A4 size) and selling it nearly new on ebay I was reluctant to try a tablet again but prolonged use of Illustrator and Photoshop made me think again. So glad I did. The Intuos4 is incredible. (And I'm not normally moved to write reviews!) The beauty of the small version is that it can comfortably sit in front of a keyboard and the tablet area can be syncronised to the screen area - this makes for lightning fast, truly intuitive input.
I originally considered the medium version (but couldn't push the budget) which has LCD icons for the programme keys but you really don't need this extra as one touch of an express key and the settings appear on your screen. I have no intention of using a mouse again. (And should you find you can't live without it - this version is very portable - fitting in a laptop case.)
My only gripe is that these tablets are so new - replacement/alternative pens are only available through the US website - can't find UK stockists that sell them yet.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Wacom............there is none better. 17 Dec 2010

I looked at buying a digital tablet like buying a watch. You want it to last, be accurate, reliable and you don't mind paying a bit more for real quality.
My Wacom tablet was all of these things and more. By more I mean it was a beautifully designed object, ergonomically superb and I now prefer it to my mouse for everything, not just photoshop (the reason I bought it)
Now I'm not saying some of the other brands would have let me down but as an Architect I appreciate quality and specification as well as design.
In summing up, if you can afford the premium price you won't be disappointed and you will have acquired a precision instrument.
One more thing I had reservations about going for the small A6 size and in truth I would probably have bought the A5/A4 if I could have afforded it but I took advice from other reviewers (basically saying the A6 was more than adequate for using with a laptop and ergonomically required less effort) and they have been proved right. So unless you are using a big display screen I think you will be more than happy with the A6.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Superb 2 Aug 2010
    Amazon Verified Purchase
I had before Intuos3 A4 size, hard to work with, like the previous reviewer, but now buying the small size I find it easier to use it, and much comfortable than A4 size.

The size being smaller, I don't need to move the pen in big gestures, which means I can use it for hours. Now I know that I could set up the working area, but then I was just wasting space, this one is just right, and I use it 6-7 hours a day, the settings I choose is even for a smaller area of the tablet despite 27" iMac..

My only problem is when I use the clone stamp, is quiet hard to press exactly in the right spot, so I am using my mouse again, any advice???? please do.

A good choice finally, and I use it every day, worth every penny. By the way, you can buy a protective sheet from wacom website, just in case, you protect the tablet from scratches, mind you I am very careful with mine.
