5.0 out of 5 stars A creatives dream 27 Oct 2006
This is my first graphics tablet, I had my apprehensions at first thinking it wouldnt live up to my expectations...but it far surpasses them! Its simply a dream to use, if you use photoshop and like to draw you NEED one of these, full stop. Its so intuitive within the adobe application its inspiring (and thats just straight out of the box, I havent even got into the assignable buttons and keys yet). The pressure sensitivity is great if your used to sketching on a 'real world' pad, all it takes is a few tweaks in the brush editor and away you go, its also great simply as a replacement mouse, I find navigating the desktop and general PC use as easy as with a mouse. I thought the A6 size might be a limitation at first but now, after using it, I think the A5 size would be too much (depending on how you work of course). Ive read reviews that complain about the possitioning of the buttons on the pen, they take getting used to (depending on how you like to hold your pens) but the fact is that if your drawing or sketching in photoshop (or whatever application) you dont need to have your fingers on the buttons to work it and can hold the stylus as close to the tip as you like, ive found myself using brushes and pencil tools in ways i'd only ever imagined possible before. The build feels solid and looks stylish, even if it broke tomorrow i'd buy another. KILL MICE, LONG LIVE THE STYLUS!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A super product! Wouldn't be without... 8 April 2006
By A Customer
This is my second Wacom tablet - having bought one several years ago (it's either the original Graphire or a Graphire2). The quality and user friendly operation of this product means that it's a must for any graphic work or digi photo editing. I didn't go for the larger size(s) as I didn't really want more clutter and this is sufficient as it adapts itself to the screen size anyway... super, fab, great, essential! I couldn't be without a tablet, and only replaced the last one as I lost the pen (!?!?!?!) Anyway 11/10!

5.0 out of 5 stars very impressed, no going back!!! 10 May 2007
Ive been a graphic designer for a company for over 15 years and I've always been a die hard mouse fan, I had seen tablets before but wasn't convinced. I however wanted to give them a try as I'd like to do some basic illustrating, I didn't want to spend a lot just in case they were rubbish - how wrong I was. As soon as I picked the pen up I was drawing with ease, it just felt so natural and unrestrictive. I use photoshop a lot both at work and home and the tablet is amazing for repetitive jobs like masking etc (try masking hair with a mouse - its a nightmare) its so quick and fluid. I have created some lifelike pictures in photoshop,I could never have achieved this with a mouse. I wanted the tablet mainly for animation within flash so the tablet size isn't an issue as most of the stuff is web based but if you are keen to get into serious painting and illustrating I would definetly recommend a larger tablet and go for a intuos if you can afford one (they are far more sensitive).

You still can't beat a mouse for precision elements such as lines and shapes but for freestyle and sketching its an essential tool that you'll wonder how you ever managed without.

Give one a try - you won't be disappointed. Hope this helped

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential kit for budding graphic designers 15 Mar 2006
This was my first try with a Graphics Tablet and I was amazed at how easy it was to install and use. It does take quite a bit of getting used to, especially as you don't have to touch the tablet with the pen to move the cursor around. To click you simply touch the tip on the pad or you can use the buttons on the pen. As soon as you put the pen over the tablet it takes over from your mouse and then you just take the pen away to revert to your mouse. I have got to say I wish I had brought one ages ago as it makes working in graphic design programmes so much easier than with a mouse.

It is very well made, powered by the USB cable so there are no batteries to change and is incredibly simple to use. It does feel strange at first but is worth persevering with. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic piece of kit. Go for it! 14 April 2006
This is the 3rd graphics tablet I have owned and it by far THE best ever. You definitely get what you pay for - accuracy and ease of use. There are even extras, ie. scroll wheel and two programmable buttons. Plus of course the Corel software, although I haven't used this yet.

You might think the active tablet area is a bit small - this is what I was worried about but I needn't have. The whole thing is great and I can recommend it over my old NISIS tablet any day. I just wish I'd bought a Wacom first - it was false economy to buy others. In fact, I've even gone over to using the pen more than my mouse, and that's saying something - I would never have dreamt of doing this with the other tablets I've owned - they were far too inaccurate.

Well worth the extra money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Owned 3 as well 26 July 2006
By Marko
If you use any sort of paint program or simply find yourself getting carpal tunnel pain then a tablet is for you.

I've owned an A5, A6 and A4 tablet.

The A5 Intuos ADB was my favourite. The A4 Intuos is too big and the Graphires are too small.

That said I use a Graphire at work and its not terrible, just not as good as the A5.

Only grumble with Wacom is that the quality of their styli is not as good as when I had the older ADB tablet.

It looks like they've realised that selling styli is a profit centre rather than just a spares support service. Styli are I think £35[ish] and we get through a couple each every year. Expect cracks in the casing up near the join between the eraser section and the main body.

Ease of use, installation and compatibilty are second to none.
