I was always cautious about buying one the cintiq as i was used to drawing with the original tablets from the beginning such as the wacom bamboo, then i upgraded to the intuos.. so eventually i thought it was time to upgrade myself again after so many years. And i can tell you it was worth the money! Everything looks amazing on the screen, i never realised how easy it was to get the hang of this because i thought it would take some getting used to. I would really recommend this as a first starter for those that want to upgrade to the cintiq, its a good quality size too, not too big and not too small.

I would like to warn people though that before they purchase, check to see if you laptop or main computer system has the slot for the HDMI cable, because if you dont i would recommend adding a HDMI-to-MiniDisplayPort adapter to the basket as well so that you can use the tablet right away. I didnt realise this until after i bought it because i assumed my macbook would have the all the latest slots (i guess not haha) so yes other than that its perfect!

Coming from an Intuos 4, the ability to draw on screen is amazing! It speeds up the drawing/ painting process by a lot when you can see where your lines are going. The resolution is good, the accuracy of the pen is brilliant, and so far it seems to be immune to technological glitches or quirks.

I was a bit concerned at first that the drawing area might be too small, what with two/three inches of screen space being taken up by menus and toolbars, but this is actually perfect! There is a SLIGHT pen lag on my Mac, very slight, does not come in the way of drawing at all except when I'm trying to do slow, precise inking- which I still prefer doing traditionally. I suspect this is because I need to update my OS, though, not because of the Cintiq. I also initially thought that the buttons were too few, but for me they work out just fine- I've set two on the Rocker Ring to increase/ decrease brush size, the other two for zoom in/ zoom out, one of the pen buttons for panning the canvas, and the other pen button for the eyedropper tool. The other tablet buttons I've set to things like Undo, clear, etc, and this configuration works like a breeze! Ultimately I would say that SPEED is the reason why someone should opt for a Cintiq over an Intuos. You get the great, authentic textured feel of pen-on- screen, with all the advantages of working digitally- the result is that you tend to work a lot faster. Moreover, drawing on the Cintiq is just awesome fun.

The only annoying thing about it is the setup. The cables seem a bit flimsy, and even slight movements to the cable that connects to the Thunderbolt port on Mac cause the Cintiq to lose connection and the screen goes black. The first few times this happened I got scared, but push the cable in firmly again and the screen will come right back.

This is one absolutely solid, amazing product from Wacom. If you are at all interested in taking your art up a notch, this is the professional designer's dream. After using the screen with the (finally!) unified hand-eye coordination, you will never want to go back to lesser tablets or using the mouse to draw with. It makes art production intuitive, easy and beautiful! But that isn't all - I frequently use the Cintiq as a second screen, enabling me to watch videos, bring up my iTunes, or reference online sources in essays, whilst I work on my laptop. In terms of streamlining your workflow and expanding your creativity, this is a perfect product.

The only issue - and this is a small one - is you will need to buy a HDMI-to-MiniDisplayPort adapter if you are using a MacBook Pro or equivalent computer, which you plug into the Thunderbolt port on your laptop (which is designed to accept MiniDisplayPort plugs). The Wacom does not ship with one of these, which is strange considering Wacom's very high-end design here. That is all!

I had been intending to buy an ex display cintiq directly from wacom. However Amazon decided to make this an offer of the week with £150 off the list price - this made it virtually the same price! A no brainer. I am extremely satisfied with the cintiq, it is exactly what I wanted but at a bargain price. You cannot beat drawing directly onto the screen, it is a natural process and produces great results.

This was well worth the money. I use drawing tablets all the time a University and I felt I needed an upgrade from the small bamboo I have had for the last four years. I thought long and hard about getting this and to be honest I was worried it wouldn't be as good as it seems, but I was wrong. It is a great size to draw on, the screen it super clear and it is really easy to use. I only have two minor problems, but not big enough to drop the star rating. When I installed it, it caused Photoshop to stop working, all I had to do was manually restart Photoshop which takes seconds and it is right as rain again. And you have to plug the Cintiq into a separate power source, which is a bit of a pain at Uni, but not the end of the world. I totally recommended getting this.
