If it hadn't been for the two top faces in the WWF squaring off, this tape wouldn't be worth your bother. The boiler room brawl, although gory, is pretty boring. The Hardcore match between Hardcore Holly and Al Snow is the most boring thing I've seen in years, The six man tag team match pitting The Brood against The Acoloytes and Midian is passable, thanks to Edge and Christian, the Intercontinetal Title match pitting the Godfather against Goldust, although it has a hilarious finale, in one word SUCKS, Ken Shamrock against the Undertaker is BORING, BORING BORING, even by the Ministry's mediocre standards, and then we have the main event. Austin and The Rock deliver a tremendous match, that Rocky quite rightfully says is the best match of his career, and the tapes worth buying just to see 'The Rock Cam' alone. If you don't know what The Rock Cam is, I'll just says it's even funnier than when The Rock does commentary on his own match. This incredible match also includes the McMahon father and son brawling, and Stephanie when she was innocent getting kidnapped by the Undertaker. All in all, no WWF fan's collection is complete without the Rock-Austin match.

Austin vs Rock was a cracker match for the world title and shano mac was the special guest referee I wouldn't rate the Undertaker shamrock match a great one but the rest of the matches were excellent.
It is a great ppv But the sad thing it is owen harts last ppv before he passed away

This was a truly great event. It kicked off with The Brood in a good 6 man tag against Mideon and The Acolytes. We see a great ending to the IC title match between The Godfather and Goldust and a good Hardcore title match between Hardcore Holly and Al snow, the Boiler Room Brawl with Mankind and The Big Show was an entertaining and brutal match. The only bad match was Shamrock v Undertaker, it's no wonder they pulled the plug on that angle straight after that match. You must by this tape just to see Stone Cold and The Rock for the title where Austin tries to get back his custom made Smoking Skull title belt back from The Rock and also after that amazing match you see perhaps the best ending to a video ever which involves The Undertaker and Stephanie.

Well this is Definitely a must buy if you enjoy the dark years of the WWF (WWE) The PPV has a whole array of great superstars on the card. My two Favourite matches are as follows. The Boiler room brawl which features Mankind and The Big Show. Its a great laugh from start with a broom, to finish with alot of poles! The Second fight is the bout between Hardcore Holly and Al snow. This fight contained some really funny spots including a referee conducting the three count in a skip full of rubbish....ahem. Theis PPV also features, Stonecold Vs The Rock. The undertaker Vs Ken Shamrock, The Brood Vs The Acolytes and Midian. New Age Outlaws Vs Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett and X-Pac Vs HHH. A really good addition to your 1999 video libary.
Andy.

My WWF Backlash 1999 Review:

Probably not the best pay-per-view of 1999, but certainly a pay-per-view that still had some amazing matches throughout the night.
The best match on the card goes to the best in Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock for the WWF Championship with Shane McMahon as the special guest referee.

The second best match of the night goes to Big Show vs Mankind in a brutal boiler room brawl match which had amazing hardcore moments.

Al Snow and Hardcore Holly put on a fantastic hardcore match for the WWF Hardcore Championship which went across the whole arena.
