For decades, Superstars have sought allies and banded together for strength in numbers. From the Four Horsemen to the n.W.o, DX, The Nexus, The Shield, and everyone in between, factions are as woven into the fabric of sports-entertainment as the rules they tend to ignore. Now, WWE celebrates the biggest, baddest and coolest factions in history. From those who influenced generations of Superstars to those who just ran roughshod over the competition, this 3-disc DVD/2-disc Blu-ray presents a brief history of the top factions from all eras and collects several of the greatest matches and moments that made each one a household name. Also featuring The Fabulous Freebirds, The Nation of Domination, Evolution, The Heenan Family, Straight Edge Society and much more!

Format: Blu-ray
This is another strange release from WWE. Sounds like a classic on paper - chuck the greatest factions in wrestling history together on a bumper Blu Ray then sit back and enjoy the magic. It doesn't quite pan out like that though - there's still much to enjoy on here but due to overcrowding and some strange choices, it's not the 5 star beauty it could be. Perhaps 3 1/2 stars is actually about right, there's fun to be had but there's little here that's absolutely essential. I would've preferred less factions covered and more action from the real big boys.

Each faction gets a short video which features a blur of fun clips and contributions from the usual talking heads who basically use the time to just tell us how much they like the wrestlers they're talking about. There's no real depth or history so don't expect to learn much. For those that are interested I'll list each faction and the matches included with a few random comments.

D-Generation X

11/01/99 - Corporate Royal Rumble - Rumbles are almost always good and this mini one is no exception. Fast paced fun with an electric finish.

The Heenan Family

28/08/86 - King Kong Bundy, Big John Studd and Bobby Heenan v The Machines and Lou Albano - Not sure this showcases the best of the Heenan Family but is an interesting old school curiosity.

Right to Censor

27/08/00 - Right to Censor v Rikishi and Too Cool - Man I hated these guys (I guess that was the point) but the match is relatively brief and decent while it lasts.

The Fabulous Freebirds

May 83 - The Fabulous Freebirds v The Von Erichs and Iceman King Parsons - An elimination match with all 8 guys in the ring at the same time, this is an entertaining, crazy, chaotic brawl.
