Product Description

Bust out your Austin 3:16 shirt, strike a 5-second pose, heat up a delicious slice of pie and count down to Y2J all over again with The Attitude Era...

Go back to the days of dysfunction, disorder, and defiance. When radical antiheroes ditched 'saying their prayers and taking their vitamins' for opening up a can of whoop ass and laying the Smackdown; when rebels ruled the airwaves and PG stood for 'puppies and grapefruits.'

This 3-disc slobberknocker is packed with all the action that pushed censors to new limits, shattered cable TV ratings and crushed WWE's competition like a Spanish announcer's table.

The Austin/McMahon rivalry

The invention of Hell In A Cell, TLC, Brawl For All and more!

The revamping of Superstars' entrance music

All the top WWE Superstars such as 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley (all 3 of them!), DX, Undertaker, Edge & Christian, Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus, The McMahons, Kane, APA, Sable, Goldust, Val Venis and many more!

Includes 70 mins of Blu-ray Exclusive Extras!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Attitude Era 23 Jan 2013
The Attitude Era is WWE's first comprehensive effort to address that glory period of then-WWF wrestling from 1997-2000 outside of the occasional clip in an anniversary product or superstar-specific collection. It comprises an hour-long documentary and just under six hours of promos, interviews and matches from those years (with another 70 minutes' worth on the Blu-ray edition), and ticks just about every box for things you could hope to find, from hardcore championship bouts to career-launching promos and beyond.

Given the wealth of archive footage presented, it's not really fair to say the documentary on Disc 1 is the main feature. If anything, IT is the extra, providing some level of context to the hours of matches and whathaveyou presented elsewhere. Still, it's a fitting and suitable testament to the many highs (and grudgingly accepted lows) of the period that appeared to change pro wrestling forever. I say `appeared' because the state of WWE's product now is further away from the ideals of the Attitude Era than we could have predicted, even as recently as 4-5 years after it ended. Still, during '97-'00 at least, it showed no signs of stopping, and welcomed an older audience with profanity, crudity, sexuality and violence. This was the time that I got into wrestling, and looking back over the whole period over Christmas it holds up pretty well, but it is doubtless romanticized by fans unhappy with modern output, and some of the documentary's interviewees are quick to point out that for every genius idea like Hell In A Cell there was a dud like Brawl For All, and Road Dogg is adamant that despite his participation (and proliferation) way back when, there's no way he'd let his kids watch it now.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad 20 Aug 2013
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
I was immediatly excited when i first saw this product, being a fan of this era, but unfortunately after watching it was mildly dissapointed. Considering the length of this dvd i was expecting the feature to be a blast from the past, however it only went on for an hour and didnt show much action, it was more of a documentary. The rest of the dvd is extras, which i am happy to say did have a lot of good moments and matches with all the old favourites. Probably looks just as good on regular dvd. Maybe one just for old school fans.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, Not great 9 April 2014
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
I am a huge fan of the attiude era of WWE. Hence why i purchased this. However, this is a more a documentry of how and what made the attiude era great. There arent as many matches as i would of liked. Still, some great footage to bring back all the memories. Not worth the price though in my opinion.
