Product Description

Product Description

The road to Wrestlemania is a year-long struggle, which has seen legends reborn, dreams shattered and lives changed forever. It isn't glamorous, it isn't easy, and it sure as hell isn't destiny. It's about the hard-fought brawls, the never-ending passion and the battle-hardened emotions that it takes to trudge down the path to the greatest spectacle in sports entertainment. The showcase of the immortals begins with the clash of the titans in WWE Road to Wrestlemania X8, in which players can choose from 16 Superstars including Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Rob Van Dam and Booker T. As players compete through the WWE ranks they'll be able to develop their Superstar's abilities and change them according to each individual's fighting style in their quest for the WWE Undisputed Championship.

4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely good, but not perfect., 26 Oct 2002
This review is from: WWE Road to Wrestlemania X8 (GBA) (Video Game)
First off, this is so much better then the WWF "game" that came out for Game Boy Advance 11 months ago. Every thing has been improved. The entrance music sounds great. The moves look a lot better and the wrestlers look unbelieveable for a GBA. They have put a lot more effort into this than WWF ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA from November 2001. There are load of new wrestlers like Booker T, Hollywood Hogan and, my favourite, Rob Van Dam. New types of matchs are included like Lumberjack and Fatal 4 Way ELIMINATION. The Royal Rumble is better too because if you get eliminated now, you can pick to return to the match instead of having to watch the rest. If you are a wrestling fan with a GBA. but this now. If you don't well you lose out then!

2.0 out of 5 stars Who is this for?, 27 Oct 2002
This review is from: WWE Road to Wrestlemania X8 (GBA) (Video Game)
I'm confused...
The awkward controls on this game, along with its sluggish speed mean that casual wrestling fans who only want to pick this up and play the odd game here and there will get frustrated really quickly, whereas the limited moves and charaters available will mean that wrestling fans who would spend the time getting to know a game with these shortcomings get no reward (unlike with the excellent Fire Pro Wrestling). There is no enjoyable create a wrestler function and the game as a whole seems very linear. A shame as I have played Fire Pro to death and there seems to be no sequel to that coming very soon.
