CM Punk, or Phillip Brooks, is a WWE Superstar, currently the WWE champion (335 days and counting) and one of the best technical wrestlers the WWE has ever seen. He's the only Straight Edge WWE superstar too (doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs), a fact he displays with pride with his 'Straight Edge' tattoo across his stomach and 'drug free' on this knuckles. In fact, his tattoos are what visually set him apart from the other wrestlers, Punk has 2 full sleeve tattoos and across his chest too. This DVD goes back not only through Punk's career but his early life, his troubled family relationships, and his early wrestling career creating his own wrestling ring and wrestling with friends, and finally breaking through into Ring of Honor, ECW and finally to the big leagues at WWE. I'm not going to claim to be an expert on anything about Punk or in this DVD but I'm just going to talk about what I enjoyed, what's on the DVD and why you should buy it!

The first of the three DVDs is the documentary about CM Punk, and also included quite a few extras that are well worth a watch too. The documentary itself is nearly 2 hours long, but it flew by as I was watching because I was riveted by what I was seeing. I thought I might watch the chatty bits and fast forward any matches just to get it watched first time, but it didn't happen like that. It is a documentary that does what it says - it features sit down conversations with Punk, his friends, family and other wrestling experts, and intersperses this with clips from Ring of Honour matches and promos, Punk backstage at various WWE events, and also the only long performance clip in this documentary, Punk's now infamous promo on Raw in July 2011 berating WWE, Vince McMahon and all the company stands for.

This dvd is superb and is a must for any CM Punk or wrestling fan!
It is really in-depth, there is a documentary on the first disk which takes a look back on his life when he was growing up and his family problems including how he felt like an outcast and just had to get away.
You can see his days in ROH and how he progressed to the best. There are comments from former diva Lita and Punk's best friend Colt Cabana and more. Also there is a bigger look at the 'pipe-bomb' he made back in 2011, what drove him to it and how it changed his life for the better.
The wrestling on the other discs is amazing, watch how Punk wins the World Heavyweight title from Jeff Hardy in a grueling ladder match and other awesome matches.
This really is an insight in the life of one of the best technical wrestlers ever to have lived, he really deserves the title 'best in the world'.

CM Punk - Best in the world, is a candid look at the life of Pro Wrestler, CM Punk. A man whose passion for the business and belief in himself drove him across the United States, working independent shows, to Ring of Honor (also to the other major wrestling organisation in the U.S, TNA, but thats not mentioned at all) and then to WWE. Upon reaching the largest Wrestling company in the world, Punk had to work his way up again, from the WWE's developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (where he met Paul Heyman, one of his biggest supporters, for good or bad) to the relaunch of ECW, to Smackdown and then to Raw. Along his way he won the World Heavyweight Championship (the lesser of the two belts) but had setbacks, some of his own making (Punk doesn't play office politics)

However, it was not till his contract was expiring that Punk finally became a headline player. Weaving reality and storyline together, Punk gave an infamous promo, which set the world on fire and garnered mainstream attention in 2011 Punk 'left' the WWE with as their Champion. He would return way too soon and go on to lose and then regain the belt, which at the time of this presentation, he was still champion.

The Blu ray follows the usual WWE format, however it is done to an extremely good and revealing degree. We get candid opinions from Punk, various relevant wrestlers and friends plus footage from companies that the WWE does not own. as Punk talks through his career to that point. Punk is not shy to give his true feelings on a number of things and people, including wrestlers who are still with the company (The Miz) and his frustrations.

Over the years of purchasing wrestling DVDs, the best ones have come from WWE Home Video. It's simply the truth, what with WWE's unmatched approaches in producing home-exclusive documentaries that cover wrestling's most fascinating subjects with tremendous depth and detail.

The Rise & Fall of ECW, The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection, the life-stories of Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho & Eddie Guerrero, Shawn Michaels: From The Vault, The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior....SO many essential DVDS that WWE Home Video (& Silver Vision) have released over the years. And the next of these in line? CM Punk: Best in the World.

When he debuted on the ECW brand back in 2006, I had never heard of CM Punk. I knew nothing of his success on the independent scene or the name he made for himself in Ring of Honor. I just saw a man who was coming-in to ECW with a ton of hype & charisma, and I knew that I was meant to cheer him.

Since he first set foot in WWE, I have been SUCH a fan of Punk. Most of his time, his moniker of `Best in the World' has been justified by his phenomenal wrestling ability, his fascinating, versatile straight-edge character/lifestyle and his elite mic work. From his time in ECW, to his Money in the Bank successes, World Heavyweight Championship glories, white-hot feuds with Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and (of course) John Cena to the infamous 2011 shoot promo that catapulted him to the WWE title and cemented his main-event status forever, there has NEVER been a dull moment in CM Punk's career. So now...the three-disc set that the man so richly deserves is yours to own. IMMEDIATELY.

Best in the World is easily in the top three DVDs that WWE Home Video has EVER put together. The reason why is due to Punk himself.
