This dvd covers the best PPV matches that took place between Wrestlemania 25 and Wrestlemania 26(starting the PPV after 25) There are some introductions between a lot of the matches that aren't anything special but don't get in the way. When needed a few of the matches have video packages before them showing the lead up to the match, I thought this was good to recap why the match was happening and most of them are very well done.
The matches on this dvd are:
Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight championship: Edge vs. John Cena (Backlash) - This is a very good match, oth of these men do best in matches with no rules and they usually put on really good matches together anyway. The match showed how well they know each other because there were a lot of counters. They beat the hell out of each other and went all over the arena and had a very memorable ending to the match. A great way to end their Feud. 9/10
ECW Championship match: Christian vs. Jack Swagger(Backlash) - I think this was the opening match at this PPV and it was definately a good way to kick off the show, they had a great match together and was probably Swagger's best match up until this point, very entertaining and a good ending here too. 8/10
World Heavyweight Championship match: Edge vs. Jeff Hardy(Judgment Day) - There's a lot of history between these two and they always have very good matches together, whether it's in tag matches, regular matches or matches with stipulations. This was no exception and was a great wrestling match, with some moves you wouldn't usually expect to see from these men. 8.5/10
Mask vs. Title, Intercontinental Championship match: Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio (The Bash) This was an amazing match, they had a great series of matches in 2009 with every match being better than the last and them often stealing the show. The match showed that they were learning from their previous matches as they got in counters against moves that were used in their previous matches and a lot of great moves and near falls, Rey's mas came into play in the ending like it had earlier in their feud. In my opinion the best match of this set and of 2009. 10/10
United States Championship six Pack Challenge: Kofi Kingston vs. Primo vs. M.V.P. vs. Jack Swagger vs. The Miz vs. Carlito (Night of Champions) - In this match everyone was in teh ring at once which made for some great non-stop action with lots of multi-man moves. A very fun match. 8/10
WWE Championship match: Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H (Night of Champions) - This was the same match that Orton won at Wrestlemania 24 and they referenced that coming up to this match. Both Cena and Triple H went after Orton right away in this match. This match built up over time and got better and better. A great match that lived up to the hype. 9/10
Intercontinental Championship match: Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler (Summerslam) - Dolph Ziggler is a very good wrestler and isn't always given credit for it, but he shows that here. In this match he tries to ground Mysterio and works over the neck. Rey got in some of his high flying offense and counters too. A very Impressive match. 8/10
TLC Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk (Summerslam) - This was part of a great feud between these two, CM Punk has not been in a TLC match before and it was a match Jeff Hardy specialised in. Both men used the weapons in great ways to get the advantage and there was some great wrestling too. A very good match in a great feud. 9/10
"I Quit" Match for the WWE Championship: Randy Orton vs. John Cena (Breaking Point) - In this match if anyone got involved to help Orton he would lose the title. Both men(especially Cena) took a lot of punishment here while trying to get their opponent to say "I Quit". The ending came too quickly and out of nowhere in my opinion but it was still a great match, I wish they put the Ironman match tehy had the next month on here instead though. 8.5/9
Hell In A Cell Match: D-Generation X vs. Legacy (Hell In a Cell) - This match started as a brawl on the outside of the cell, but Legacy took advantage and locked themselves inside the cell with Shawn Michaels, leaving Triple H on the outside unable to do anything. Shawn took a beating whil Triple H attempted to get into the cell. This was a very entertaining match, but I felt their Submissions count anywhere match was better. 8.5/10
Bragging Rights match: D-Generation X, Big Show, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho, Kane, Matt Hardy, Finlay, R-Truth, Hart Dynasty(Bragging Rights) - DX's team were representing Raw while Chris Jericho's represented Smackdown. I really enjoyed this match even though at the time I wasn't looking forward to it that much. Both teams worked well together but Smackdown were clearly the underdogs, they held there own though and put on a very fun match. The ending was a disappointment but worked. 8/10
Traditional Survivor Series match: John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin, Finlay vs. The Miz, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger (Survivor Series) - This was under elimination rules and was a very strog match, I like these matches because they put together a lot of different rivalries, and the winners suprised me. 8/10
Ladder Match for the ECW Championship: Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin(TLC) - These two agreed to have this match so that ECW could steal the show. This match was very good with good use of the ladder, unfortunately the match was halted a bit when they have to stop Christian bleeding (I wish they would just let people bleed if it was accidental unless they really need help) But other than that this is a great match. 8/10
Womens Championship match: Michelle McCool vs. Mickie James (Royal Rumble)- This match was quite pointless, there were better womens matches that year, this lasted for no time and was pretty much James' revenge for all the 'piggy James' comments 2/10
Streak vs. Career: Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels (Wrestlemania 26) - This was a re match from the previous year, and it was an incredible match, The match was more intense than their last one and told a great story of Shawn's obsession with trying to end the streak. There were lots of near falls and great moments. A historical match and a great way to close this set. 10/10
There is also some bonus features of people talking about their matches.
This was a really good dvd, with all the matches(but one) being great quality and very entertaining. I hope WWE don't stop bringing out sets like this. I really recommend this dvd unless you already own all the PPVs included.
