3.0 out of 5 stars A great collection of matches but... 9 May 2010
By IWFIcon VINE™ VOICE
Although Stephanie McMahon herself, number two to only Vince himself in the WWE power list, once stated she didn't see the point in tag team wrestling (as in you were paying four men to do work that two men could do just as well) never let it be said that the WWE can't show some kind of common sense towards the tag team format, especially when it can make them some money. Hence this 3-disc set of the "World's Greatest Tag Teams".

Naturally it goes without saying that any long-term fan will have their differences of opinion with the teams featured here (and all the footage is from the WWE archives, meaning there's little mention of any Japanese teams) but there's no denying that this is an amazingly balanced look at some of the great teams of the past. Thus the WWE names that you might expect to be involved (The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, The Rockers) have their place but teams such as the Fabulous Freebirds, The Midnight Express and even the Dudley's (all the more surprising given their status with the WWE's competitors TNA at the time of production) get their moment in the spotlight.

Therein, however, lies the problem. With so many teams to get through, a MOMENT in the spotlight is all ANY team gets. The main stars get, at best, a 90 second to 2 minute "highlight reel" before we go straight into one of their feature matches. So whilst this allows the collection to showcase some excellent tag team action, viewers looking for genuine insights into any of the teams will not find it here. Neither is there any historical context with the WWE presumably content that you will either find the matches themselves worth the purchase or will know the history that lies behind the great teams.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tag Team action 15 Mar 2010

Well what can I say it doses what it says on the box a 3 disc DVD box set of some of the best Tag teams ever
John Morrison & the Miz host I am a fan of both men so that helps but even if you are not don't let that put you of its like the greatest stars of the 90s DVDs but with Tag teams instead of single wrestlers lots of cool extras as well I recommend this very highly

4.0 out of 5 stars GOOD BOX SET 12 Feb 2013

A good set with some great matches, slightly spoiled by the presenters, Miz and Morrison who I can't stand. would have got 5 stars if it wasn't for them two, plus I would have expected a section on Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith, my favourite tag team.
All in all I'd say buy this dvd as most of the the matches are top quality.

3.0 out of 5 stars good 18 April 2012
By mick
A great trip down memory lane and some amazing maches but focuses on tag teams from the 60's and 70's which was befor my era so it got a bit boaring but worth it for t.l.c with the hardyz, Dudleyz, and edge & Christian.
