As you may know, this WWE game focuses on the attitude era, and arguable the best era in pro wrestling. You get to play as modern day wrestlers as well as attitude era wrestlers such as CM Punk, Triple H, Mankind, Undertaker and more.

The game is a step up from WWE 12, you get to create logos, wrestlers, storylines, highlight reels, movesets. As well as this the addition of creating an arena as well as, edit a championship and name it, You can pick the championship and change the name and colour of the strap.

WWE 12 had bad online, after playing on it from the day it came out I have had no problems with the online, I can upload and download and view created stuff easily enough.

Back to WWE 13, instead of the road to wrestlemania mode you get to relive key attitude storylines such as DX. You get special match bonus by recreating them more accurately like by smashing your opponent with a chair and youll unlock a new character, arena, attire etc.

Why not 5 stars? Well there a just a few little things really. The roster, do we really need 3 versions of Triple H, fair enough you get attitude Triple H and modern Triple H like many others, but Hunter as well? hmm? Many feel the same about Mick Foley's characters, but they are all different. O well thats just a little thing anyway. Many people wanted Kurt Angle, The Hardyz and the Dudleyz in the game, however they cant be because thy are all in TNA minus Matt Hardy. After playing svr 11 and then wwe 12 with a new control type for me I prefered svr 11, and you only get the wwe 12 1s, I think for an improvement they could give you a choice. Also you dont get key wrestlers who are being used in WWE now, like Ryback. I know he is in DLC but I dont know when that is coming out.

Being a big wrestling fan, i'm always anticipating the next WWE game.Every year the game comes out, I play it endlessly, like it for a few weeks and can't seem to get into it afterwards. This year with WWE13 all that has changed. We have a game that I could play for ever and never get bored with. I love the new Attitude Era mode, finally getting rid of their boring Road to Wrestlemania. WWE Universe is back and looks better than anything they've done with it, after virtually leaving it untouched in last years game. The gameplay itself is a bit slower than in years past, and maybe that's a good thing.

The roster is certainly at its best since Smackdown: HCTP, so many wrestlers to choose from. I've only found about 2 flaws so far (i'm sure there are more) with gameplay and Attitude Era mode. The gameplay still has some bugs, some AI issues, but these are things that could be fixed with an eventual patch.

This is for true wrestling fans only. If you love TNA get it. If you love WWE get it. As you can create any Wrestling show you love :).

Usually WWE games are just the same game with a new title and main menu, but in wwe 13 they completely changed things up. With the new WWE wrestlers and the classics this somes it up to be fun. The create modes are spot on you can even create a belt!
This game is hours of fun.

i pre-ordered this, erm, just a couple of days before it came out. It's easy to pick up and play, especially if you had WWE 12, as it's basically the same game with a few different game modes/characters. There are quite a large number of new moves with which to pummel your opponent with, and it includes an option for weight based moves, so the lightest guy in the game cannot lift the heaviest guy in the game. This has improved game play making it more realistic. King of the Ring,an elimination style game mode has returned after a long hiatus. Also back, but not good, is a match where you can play as a guest referee. I was eager to try this out, started attacking the two superstars I was supposed to be refereeing and consequently got kicked out of the match. Create a wrestler/move etc is back but has not changed that much, as far as I can ascertain, but it worked fine in WWE 12, so it works fine here. The fact that you get some superstars from different eras is a nice touch, as is the fact that, if you want, you can pitch both versions of the same fighter against each other. With the purchase of the Accelerator Boost, from the game's WWE Shop, you can unlock most of the game's unlockable content without playing through the main mode - the Attitude Era. This is handy, because there are just too many gaps in the roster when you first begin a game. It comes with a DLC (downloadable content pack), of about 5 superstars which you can purchase. All in all I am very happy with the game, although I don't think it would be worth more than £40, if you have owned it's previous incarnation, as again it's just basically the same. Very good

Like so many other sports titles, it's all about evolution as opposed to revolution and WWE 13 is no different. Despite looking back to the glory days of wrestling for many and the "Attitude Era", a lot of the underlying mechanics within the game remain the same. For instance, the grappling system remains unchanged with the addition of reversal indicators, which give feedback on the timing of your reversals. There really is no huge difference gameplay wise, which admittedly already works even if it's lacking in moves within movesets for some.

Anyway, seeing as the "Attitude Era" is the main selling point here, how well does it hold up? The story mode this year focuses exclusively on the attitude theme and is executed brilliantly. Going into every match there is a backstory giving you a description of how the match materialised which is a great touch. Furthermore, videos accompany the mode and never feel intrusive and help to immerse the player further within the mode. Besides that the wrestlers you play as; DX, Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker & Kane, Mankind and an Off Script chapter are all intriguing and based off of real events as opposed to previous games. There's no doubt that this may be the best story mode that THQ has ever done on next-gen consoles, although this is largely due to the era it is set in.

The roster is a good size of new and old superstars. Some attitude guys are disappointingly missing but due to circumstances beyond THQ's control such as contractual arrangements etc this is to be expected. Most of the grapplers look like their real-life counterparts, with all the entrances and mannerisms included. This extends to the old school superstars titantrons and music too, which rocks.

Once again though online is a mess.
