It has never been truer that the winner (re)writes history. One could come away with the impression that the US won the war all by itself. Managed only to watch 3 discs then gave up the ghost.

Way to American biased. America this America that, even the American planes were in the spotlight where everybody knows the Spitfire was the greatest plane of WW2 but there was no mention of it :-( Buy The World at War instead ;-)

i have not yetmanaged to watch all of the dvds as it is so long but it has full coverage and interesting footage of this time in history , my only qualm is and it did make me unable to watch it for long periods, was the fast cartoon like background music which was off putting and too loud, some times drowning out the narators voice , shame as otherwise it is a good dvd

I don,t want to Put any glamour to war, but it does bring it to life like a smack across the face .the daily event , in newsreel style. Read more
