Fun:
I am not sorry to go against the review trend for this snooker game.
I almost didn't buy it because of the poor reviews, and am so glad
that I finally parted with the cash.

My previous game was WSC 2005 in which 100 breaks were fairly easy
to achieve after a little practice.

The learning curve with WSC09 is in the practice room. You have to
learn ALL the controls, and patience is critical. It took me three
hours to be at ease with the keyboard combinations before entering
my first tournament. A break of 63 won me the first game.

The graphics are splendid, and the feel of the cue on ball is far more
realistic than WSC2005.

Enjoy

Another Blade special 9 April 2009
Platform for Display:PC|Edition:Normal
Well here we go again, another snooker rendition from Blade, they have no idea about this game, terrible controls, bad lighting on table shadows all around the balls lousy player graphics, sad old commentary, from virgo et Al. Wake up blade! I rate this as bottom of all the previous snooker games, from Blade and all others. 2004 and 2005 are way superior to this lousy game. The venues are so dark my old youth club in the 70's had better lighting down on the old quarter size table in the basement!...terrible.

Also has game play flaws eg : Got down to the colours and potted the black up for the yellow potted the yellow and then green, I should have taken a glance before potting the brown as they put the green back on its spot!! so when I put the brown away it was a foul! my opponent then potted the BROWN and then the GREEN and went on to win!! also at times it gets stuck on the aim feature, and you have to abandon the frame to get out of it. all in all.. a joke.

Same old faults. 4 Sep 2009

Fun:
Yet again Blade do not listen to anybody but their own tired excuses. They tell us they want to make the game realistic. That is why you can not pick a computer opponent who is easy enough to beat and therefore allow you to develop your skills. This arrogance is luckily not shared by other games such as Chessmaster otherwise they would only allow you to play grandmasters. This could be a fantastic game if they only lightened up. Blade please employ somebody who doesn't have a snooker cue shoved up their ..... and can put some enjoyment back into the game. Even flight simulators try to add some fun into their games. Every attempt is exactly the same. All they change with each sequal is slightly better graphics. You know that the next one they come up with will only be better because the graphics cards have improved resulting in slightly better reflections off the balls.
All in all if you have an earlier game stick with that one as the new one doesn't add to it. If you don't have either get 2005 until 09 as it is cheaper. I don't expect Blade to ever work out these faults because they are so rigid and wouldn't listen to any criticism anyway.

Vision and Sound disappointment
This game was purchased as a replacement for the previous one (WSC 03) as it would not run under Vista. The game graphics were very atmospheric but were let down by the game play. Read more

Not perfect but still great fun
The best feature of this game is the aiming and postitional aids. This does make it much easier to line up a shot and fugure out where the cue ball will end up. Read more
