Comes with windows 7 pre-installed. Boots to desktop at startup. There is no bloatware on this pc. It is a clean install. Register windows using the ID key off the supplied windows disk, then allow windows to go through its usual fraught and frenetic updates, then install your own preferred anti-virus and firewall as a bare minimum.

You will need an existing keyboard, mouse and a uk pc power lead, plus an appropriate lead to a display with either DVI or HMDI - or VGA using a DVI/HMDI to VGA adapter (I thought I saw a DVI to VGA adapter included in the box, but don't quote me on that). As this was a direct replacement for a retired game pc, the mouse, keyboard and display was just a straight swap out. Wireless lan is provided by an external plug in adapter, supplied in its own unopened small cellophane wrapped box. My lan was wired to the modem, so I didn't need it myself.

For a benchmark, running EQ2 at high quality resulted in a smooth and playable game experience. Still playable in very high quality, though some in-game settings will need a tweek. 8gb Ram allows the luxury of pushing performance to the limit, so turn off the paging file (memory dumps) to the hard drive because it is not needed. Two fans on the side and one at the front resulted in near whisper quiet operation, not the constant struggle of a jet engine noise.

Time will tell if the performance will live up to the near legendary lifespan of the retired 4 years old plus game pc, but so far well impressed.

For the price, for the delivery, for allowing games to be experienced in the best environment possible, this has to be best.

The PC arrived in good time, taking just under one week to get here. Minor issues in that it wouldn't boot, just kept cycling on and off, and the HDD had become loose and was trapped at 45 degrees,because it wasn't secured. The start up issue was a plug on the MB that was not connected properly. The main thing I was concerned with, was the PC is advertised as having 2 USB3 ports - it doesn't, this MB does not support USB3. When I brought this to their attention, the reply was to ask me which MB was fitted!!! They built the machine so why ask me which board was fitted? wierd, but there you go. The result was they had a think about it for a day or two and then said they'd send me a PCI-USB3 board, so thats OK.

The PC runs well and I'm pleased with the overall build quality and as I say, the delivery was good, and to be fair, their responses were quite quick when I did raise issues.

On a final note, the ad seems to vary, when I originally asked about the OS, they said it didn't have one, but now they seem to imply they do provide Windows Premium and licence. Mine came with an unlicenced German copy of Windows 7, but as I said, I wasn't expecting one so I just formatted the HDD and installed my own Windows OS. Just make sure if you are relying on it having an OS and clarify it will be an English version with a licence key.

As for the USB3 - I guess they'll either change the ad or stick the PCI board in as part of the deal, and if they opt for the latter, then you'll have just one PCI slot left on the MB if you want to expand later.

By way of an update, 15/5/12. I received a 2-port PCI-USB3 card through the post today, they ordered it through Amazon, its just about the cheapest one available, the Technet, no lead provided though. In one way I now have what they advertised, ie, 2 USB3 ports, but as the PCI board provided as an afterthought has only external ports, I can't connect to the internal port which sits in the card reader. Ah well, I won't use this board, I'll buy one that has an internal connection, but at least they made an effort.

More issues - having bought a device from Amazon, controlled by esata, I connected it up and again like the USB3 problem, it wouldn't work. So again I have contacted the suppliers for their views. I decided to check the spec of the MB on MSI's website, and sure enough, just as this MB doesn't support USB3, it does not support esata either, clearly the PC builder either doesn't know what he's doing or they are trying it on. The ad listing refers to these being supported but they're not. It's not quite as easy to remedy this as it was with the USB3 problem, but I'm very annoyed about this, I'll se how they respond before I get Amazon involved. As far as I'm concerned, they've supplied something very different to what they advertised.

My experience of the order

Made the order for this about ten days ago and had it delivered about 4 working days later. For those people tracking the order, go to the Parcelforce website to keep an eye on when it's going to be delivered.
Once I'd got it, it was pretty easy to set up for the ok technical type I am. It comes with Windows 7 pre-loaded and what you need to do to get it going is
- Get it connected up to the internet. They supply a USB dongle for this.
- Activate Windows with the supplied key they give you in the box that comes with the package.
- Sort out the user accounts in Windows as they set up a Test account to make sure it starts up ok.
- Once you're past that just get the anti-virus on there and it's good to go. Had it up and running in half an hour although with Windows 7, I did have to get past nearly 90 updates before it stopped needing anymore!

The machine itself

Runs very quietly and actually looks pretty good with the red lights in the case. It starts up very quickly as well. For those more skilled than myself, the processor in there does allow some room for overclocking with just the normal fan in there.
Having looked inside the case, there are only two memory slots on the motherboard supplied. I'm a bit out of touch with the PC market to know whether that's usual now but as it's got 8GB supplied for now that's ok with me. Room for extra drives also looks to be a little limited with the cabling inside as well but that may be down to inexperience on my part.

User experience

Very positive so far. I am a little bit of a gamer but don't generally play those that test machines out too much. However I did get The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PC DVD) on here and that manages to play at high quality with little trouble. I imagine in the long run I'll swap out the graphics card as that is a bit low end but as it seems to manage Skyrim ok that's enough for me for now.

Overall

As a desktop replacement for my old machine this is more than adequate to keep me going for a few years. I thought I was taking a little bit of a risk ordering from Bedir but it's all been very positive so thanks to them for a good product!
