COME ON MR. LUCAS This is what we are all wanting to buy on Blu Ray, even if it costs us 100 for this sort of quality.
1.We want a faultless 10 out of 10 picture on an absolute must buy Blu ray collection that will rock DVD's out of the park.
2. Each disc to have seamless branching of all releases including original theatrical releases of the original trilogy that looks like it was made yesterday without the later CGI additions (ie like you were watching it in 1977 but looking brand new), all polished up and perfect in picture quality and sound (can be new). The later versions of each film could be on each of the discs too, seamlessly connected., much like close encounters disc1 is.
3. Bonus Features Discs - perhaps 2 of these, one for the original trilogy, and one for the new trilogy. All in HD where possible and maybe some Bluray exclusive extras, all previous extras included from the previous DVD's
4. Really get the Bluray Discs as perfect as possible, quality simple to use animated menus that look outstanding, some BD-Java stuff Games/or in movie Games (see Cars or Ratatouille Bluray) and BD-LIVE that have excellent updatable content and are quick in operation without waiting forever, and worth going back to time after time.
5. Give us Ep.1 without that annoying Jar Jar stupid voice, get a new actor to do its voice over for gods sake,or Ahmed Best to do a less irritating one (or Alien voice) its a farce and everyone hates it. Also to make him more believable, it looks so fake it really turns most Star Wars fans stomachs how bad this character looks, I have never liked it. Its also OTT slapstick comedy that doesnt fit, I even prefered the childish-teddy ewoks that turned Jedi into a kiddies film, as they weren't CGI and constantly annoying with winey-hard to understand voices like JAr. It would be better if it was alien language(not annoying though) with subtitles for JarJar. Make hime look morereal somehow, update this CGI with less cartoony feel/Better rendered or something. Rant Over.
6. A superb quality tin casing or Gatefold book type (see Close encounters quality slipcase design) is needed with suplemental book (not leaflet type).
7. Make this the Ultimate/Definative & Only Bluray Set that anyone would ever want to buy. We don't want 3or4or5 different versions as in the DVD sets, give us one almighty beautiful must have set that contains every version there is and we could ever want in the best BluRay ever produced. This is Star Wars, we want it the best it could ever be and with all the verions there and not be to be endlessly released with alternative versions on this format over and over again. We want the kind of Ultimate release that The Matrix had, a truly outstanding Star Wars Set.
8. Maybe include a John Williams Best of the Star Wars Themes Soundtrack CD where we have all the best main themes together (ones that everyone knows and loves) that we can listen to again and again. Not the effects tracks (zapping and dramatic scores) more of the tunefull stuff and melodies (themes)
If this can't be done, how about a seperate music only track on the BluRay Discs or main themes from the menus? that would be cool also, So the sountrack could be incorporated into the Movie disc, without having to buy the seperate soundtrack CD. I wish all Blurays had this feature as there is easily enough room on a dual layer Bluray for CD sized content.
9. Full Audio Commentaries from Cast, Crew & of course Mr.Lucas seperate from a Video Commentary
10. Cine Explore/ In Movie featurettes/ Video Commentaries pointing out interesting parts of the film. These would be best if you could select who you could wanted to hear from, so you could watch the film with the cast, or director, or Industrial Light& Magic or John Williams etc.
This would be best I think for specific views on each movie eg. how certain shots or the score were done or anecdotes from cast. Whichever you were in the mood to hear about, as the movies can be watched again and again, this would always be of interest.
It might be a lot of work to tick all these boxes, but as most of the work is already digitally done(archives & previous DVD material) and the quality of the people who work on these classic movies,I am sure they could do all of this and perhaps more - in their sleep. Especially as the money involved to produce an awesome BLURAY SET can't be in short supply, expensive maybe, but deserving of this and what the fans want.
The End.

What U think ?
