More About the Author

RJ O'Connor originally trained as an aircraft engineer, spending his spare time racing motorcycles until a serious accident triggered a change of destiny and a degree in Fine Arts. He has still not learned his lesson though, and drives cars on tracks as fast as possible whenever he can. His adventures have led him to a career in airlines and telecoms, which have seen him fly aid, medical staff, journalists and even rock groups to destinations all over the world. He grew up in a small copper mining town in the heart of Africa before moving to what is now Zimbabwe and then finally to the UK, where he lives with his wife, two children and two cats in West Sussex. Their English cottage backs onto a Saxon moat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even harder to put down! 15 July 2014
By steph
Format:Kindle Edition
Just as readable and enjoyable as the first in the series but as the plot thickens and the concepts become more complex, it's even harder to put down. Great to get into a mix of genres that aren't usually my cup of tea. Roll on book 3! And 4, 5, 6..... :)

5.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Installment leaves me impatient for the 3rd. 29 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This follow-on book in the Resonants series really picks up the pace and develops the intrigue. I couldn't put it down. The great thing is that it all happens now and brings together sci-fi themes with the action narrative that works so well. The underlying story line is totally captivating but O'connor adds layers that have you wondering how it's all going to come together - even after you've finished the book. I can't wait for the next one.

I read the first book (The Growing) and liked the contemporary setting, it is nice to see someone creating a world of threat and mystery without having to invent yet another dystopian future! The characters are believable and their motivations seem real. The plot line is good with hints of more revelations waiting to be discovered. Having read many books of this Genre, thanks to my teenage boys who read everything and recommend the good ones, I am pleased to have been introduced to a story series that builds on what we have and at times lifts the veil on what could be happening under our very noses - I hope the author maintains the standard and hurries up with the next instalment.
