Wainwright's books are unique. The pen-and-ink sketches are superb workmanship. But the text is in a class without compare. The only best-sellers printed directly form the author's HANDWRITTEN text. Yet perfectly clear, professional and readable. They are worth buying simply for the unique workmanship alone.
The content is very human, personal and drily funny. Yet it is meticulously accurate and "followable" as a guidebook.
Buy all his servies, and hand 'em down to your grandkids. (No, I'm not his relative, beneficiary, agent, printer, publisher, etc ! I just think the series is a work of art, brilliant in most respects, and uniquely so in some.) Real craftsmanship. Enjoy.
