Undoubtedly one of the best cricketers of all time, and the sport's first superstar, WG Grace is the embodiment of all that is Victorian cricket. Low tells the story of Grace's life in a pleasant and readable biography. He quashes some of the myths and puts flesh on the bones of some of the interesting stories and anecdotes about his life. I particularly enjoyed the sections on Grace's tours abroad and the creation of the London County Cricket Club. Well-researched and well-written, this is a good explanation as to why WG Grace is such a cricketing icon.
