5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent music from JS Bach's favourite son 6 May 2014
Verified Purchase
This is well worth investigating for anyone interesting in well-conceived 18th Century choral music, and not just because of the Bach family connection. The works offered here are individual and imaginative, demonstrating writing of emotional depth and power. The performances are excellent, with the soloists well-balanced in the sound picture and the instrumental accompaniment executed with style and elan. The production is clear and detailed, within an ideal acoustic. Highly recommended, not least because there are two discs at bargain price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth a listen .... 27 Dec 2011
Although WF Bach was, apparently JS Bach's favourite son, as a cpmposer he was clearly not a patch on his dad. Nor is he as interesting as his brother, CPE Bach.
This is, however, moderately interesting music, well performed and recorded. At this priced (for 2 CDs) you have little to lose. Recommended for the curious.
