There really are no better knives than Wusthof, and this is the 'flagship'. I recently bought a set of Wusthof Classic after years of using cheap inferior kitchen knives. To be honest the price frightened me, but already I am realising that I will have saved money in the long run. The balance is perfect, the cutting edge is amazing and if you use the correct technique all cutting jobs are effortless. Add to this the fact that with proper care these knives should last a lifetime and you will see that you will never have to buy another set of knives again. The only difference between Wusthof Classic and Wusthof Grand Prix (apart from the wider product Range in Classic) is the construction of the handle, so I would recommend you to try them out in a store to see which suits best before buying online. The Classic felt more comfortable and substantial to me, but others may find the the Grand Prix more suitable.

I recently ordered this knife off of another website (for £20 less), after going down to my local kitchen shop and testing the the different brands to see which one I liked the best.

I chose Wusthof primarily because of the weight. It is a 'heavy' knife and that is what I wanted to work with. The weight feels reasuring and balanced and the grip is really comfortable.

I wouldnt recommend anyone buys a knife without first testing a few of them out to see which suits your hand/style.
But, if you wanted to buy a present for a chef or extremely keen home cook, then I guarantee you that this knife would put you in their good-books for life!

Perfect balance, deadly sharp, comfortable to use, and as an added bonus, it looks great!
What more do you need in a knife?

The knife is brilliant and dangerously sharp. When it arrived the point was sticking out of the paper. It needs to be packed with more protection as it was very dangerous and could have injured someone.

Loving the 20cm Classic. Just hope I don't have to use the Wusthof double pull sharpener on it !
