I was very surprised when this arrived, the quality of the cover is exceptional and of a high standard. Anyone with a vita wanting a classy case should seriously consider this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Practical 25 April 2014
By D. Ryan
Essentially the objective of this product is to protect your PS Vita, however, this is only half done. Whilst it protects the vital parts, the front and back, it fails to protect the sides. I should be able to put this in luggage and be confident that it will be unharmed. I once had a PSP case that I used to take to football matches with me, when we scored another fan jumped on the bag it was in and the PSP was unharmed and the case unmarked. This case does not protect completely. It would also be nice to be able to charge whilst within the case.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better. 26 Feb 2012

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this case because it was the only one they had at the store. When I got home and opened it I could tell there was going to be a problem. There's nowhere to put any games and it only covers the front and back of the Vita leaving the sides exposed. You can play the system while it's still attached, but it's not the most comfortable experience to say the least. Your fingers will rub against the edges of the case and it's hard to get a good grip. The one good thing is this case doubles as a stand and that actually works well. I'm not sure if I'm going to return it yet, but I was definitely expecting more since this is made by Sony.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not very practical 18 Feb 2012

This case will carry the PS Vita and nothing else which is fine for carrying it around protected. But once open for some gaming the case is cumbersome. The front and back flaps can be left hanging which feels weird and uncomfortable. Or one can flip the front flap to the back and you are left with this bulky unstable holding arrangement.

The good part is that this case is easy to put on and take out, that way you can carry your Vita protected, take it out of the case and use it.

I really dont like this case. I will keep using the case included in the first edition bundle for moving around with my vita. Either way the vita is not pocket friendly, so might as well use a case that can hold some games, memory card and usb cable.

2.0 out of 5 stars Believe the hate! 25 Feb 2012
By Jokerfish - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
Like some others I bought this case as it was the only one available. Once I snapped it on I could see how things were going to go. the sides of the case are stiff and the Vita is held inside by a plastic bracket that snaps into the holes created by the lower loops on the system. At first the rubbery section holding them together was stiff making the system bulky to hold and maneuver. I tried using the velcro strip to hold the flaps together as they dangled off the bottom of the Vita and that worked for a while, though the system was still heavier than was comfortable, especially when trying to play sitting down (which is going to happen a lot with the short battery life and short power cable provided.)

Also, unless you're going to leave the case opened, you cannot charge the Vita while it's in the case.

The problem was that the case only did a mediocre job of actually protecting the Vita. The bracket is held to the case by a strip of cloth that has a bit too much play in it, so snapping the case shut and fastening the velcro strip still leaves some wiggle room. The best way I can describe the setup is it's like holding an ice cream sandwich which has started to melt. The Vita shifts all over and has a tendency to flop out the sides a little bit, which makes the case useless if you happen to drop the system. The bracket itself - which the whole assembly hinges on - is anchored by two tiny clips that can be popped off easily enough, but either one breaking will render the whole case useless.

Also I should add that the semigloss rubbery leather texture of the case is nice to look at but is like a magnet for fingerprints and any grease on your hands. The material lining the inside of the flaps tends to pick lint off of any other fabrics it touches, so if you're wearing a colored t-shirt and playing with the system on your lap, it's going to get some lint on it.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted to like this case. It looks very nice when the system is placed inside it right and I'm sure the hard flaps on the case can take a beating, but there's virtually no protection from the sides, which is bad for drops, and if you happen to spill something on the Vita while it's in the case it's still going to get damaged.

I returned this case and got the Travel Pouch which is MUCH more practical. Honestly for the difference of better protection, decent padding, game and cable storage options all at the same price there is NO reason to go with this carrying case over the travel pouch or even the sleeve included with the First Edition bundle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly stupid design. 27 Feb 2012
By TechJunkie12 - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I don't know what they were thinking when they designed this case. They probably weren't thinking at all. It snaps on right, but when you flip the back cover down it only goes down to a certain angle and just stays there. It presses down against your fingers and you can hardly use the back panel. It has a very bulky design and the top and bottom parts are needlessly bigger than your Vita for some weird reason. And then when you hook it to the back and strap the case shut, your Vita is just flopping in there. If it hits the ground the sides are most DEFINITELY gonna get damaged. So... the question begs to be answered. What is the case protecting the Vita from? Dust. That's all I can think of. A whale of a flop. Stay clear. I am sticking with my PSP style slide in pouch for now.
