4.0 out of 5 stars VOYAGA's Voyage To Excellence 23 Jan 2013
By Kurt Belcher - Published on
Loved this book! Writer Brandon Barrows took a great premise and really executed it beautifully. After an astronaut is put into suspended animation for a thousand-year voyage, he awakes to find a world he wasn't expecting, nor was he made for. Barrows fleshes out the alien world really well, although some of the future tribal names were a bit on the corny end. But overall, the book was a great read at a really good price.

On the art side, I enjoyed Ionic's work. The style changed over the course of the book, and while I could see the reason for the evolution as the story progressed, I'm not sure that the casual reader will get it. It has a great, scratchy feel, though, which is very appropriate for this rough, unfriendly world of the future.

Overall, I'm can't recommend the book enough. If you're a fan of science fiction, check this out for certain!
5.0 out of 5 stars Old fashioned sci-fi/adventure = great 15 Dec 2012

I bought this because I really liked Brandon Barrows and Ionic's other book Jack Hammer. This is really different, but still very good. Dean Kirkland is a basically regular guy stuck in a bad and very unusual situation, but he steps up and makes the best of it with the spirit of a true explorer. If you like old fashioned sci-fi/adventure, this is a GREAT read. I actually liked it so much I bought 2 extra copies to give as Christmas gifts!
