Product Description

Convenient, highly portable and remarkably cost-effective, ultra-small mini amps have gained great popularity as first amps or practice amps. The convenience of battery power and their space-saving ease of use only add to their appeal. The casual player may enjoy keeping a mini amp in the office, in the bedroom, or may carry one for inspired performing at any time. Even professional musicians enjoy these amps for warming up in the dressing room. The AC1 RhythmVOX is a guitar amp that includes some cool rhythm features. The ten Rhythm Patterns include not just standards such as 8 beat, 16 beat, and blues; but also funk, reggae, and even complex irregular patterns.

I have a 1965 valve AC30 so couldn't resist buying this cute look-a-like for when I just want to practice quietly.

I was excited when it arrived - it's a faithful scaled down version of it's big brother including the style of the control panel knobs and looks gorgeous.

The disappointment starts when you switch it on - the sound is shallow and distorted. At best, on the 'clean' setting with the gain turned right down, my Gibson Les Paul sounds papery and lifeless with all of its clear bright jangly tone lost. On the 'overdrive' setting it's just way too distorted for my taste.
I guess this is inevitable given it has such small speakers.

On the plus side it has a built in beat box with a wide range of patterns which are great for playing along with to practice keeping time.
It also has an aux input which you can plug your MP3 player into so you can play along with your own tunes (or just use it as speakers for your MP3 player!)

In summary, it's convenient for practicing but it will make any guitar sound like something you bought for 5 quid from a charity shop.

I saw this amp on a YouTube video, as the lead singer of Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, was using one.

This amp sounds so great considering its size and dials, with only two major dials for the guitar the sound is in credible better than any up to 10w practice amp out there. Switch the clean and overdrive switch for two great sounds.

And one cannot go wrong with the rhythm section of this amp, with 66 rhythms on there you're technically a one man band!

10/10 Cannot go wrong.

This is the best thing since sliced tea. Bread. A great little amp with lots of volume for practicing at home. People who have given this unit a bad review clearly don't know how to use an amplifier. Especially the guy who said it distorts all the time obviously hasn't found the clear/overdrive switch.. all my guitars sound very good in clean mode,.. including my Les Paul,

Super little amp with a nice built in drum machine (better than the average rhythm patterns when there isn't a proper drummer)

I should heve listened to the other reviews, they are risght. It' a great little amp for features but as others say it does not have a clean sound. This is bad enough when paying electric guitars through it, but with electro acoustics it's a waste of time.
