I know its only october but I dont care, I cant see anyone topping this for album of the year 2012. A warm, thoughtful and rich sound that will demand you listen to it again and again. For fans of The Antlers, The Maccabees or Alt-J, this is an utterly compelling music, that even without earlier top tracks such as Midnight Love and Light Show this is still top draw stuff. A British band to be proud of.

I thought I'd be the first to commend this upcoming Brighton quintet for producing such a stunning example of a debut album.

Rich, exotic, ethereal sounds and bloody catchy too! This band's just oozes class and deserves your full attention so put on your best speakers, and lose yourself. This isn't the last we hear from these boys.

One of the most visually and orally stunning albums of the year. The perfect chilled out spring time record for me. These guys are vastky underated and i wish everyone could hear them. ow could i not mention the album artwork, at a time where albums are becoming less and less popular this reminded me as to why I always buy the CD, those who don't are missing out!

This is a great first album from the British band - Cave Painting, beautifully produced - well worth waiting for!
One of the best albums of 2012. 31 July 2013
By Thane - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Let me start my saying, Cave Painting is very underrated. There, I said it. I know that is normally thrown out for bands that people think have potential, but I really mean it. This band is extremely underrated.

This album is so much fun from start to finish. It starts out with the lively tune, "Leaf," and eases right into the upbeat afropop tune, "Gator." It's a nice eclectic mix of tracks that intertwine into each other. Some of the tracks are a refreshing escape from the cookie cutter songs that are being produced nowadays. And some are very atmospheric, mysterious ballads that, when listened to at the right time of day, can really get your mind drifting. Is it perfect? No. There are a couple of pitch issues on the title track, "Rio," but no album is perfect, no matter what anyone says. You enjoy what you enjoy. And I thoroughly enjoyed this album. I can't wait for more releases to come.
