I've bought The Prodigy Voodoo People single from rmdcoleford. And it is O.K. Single is brand new and not even touched altough it's not wrapped in foil.

This single showcases the change of direction in The Prodigy's style. The title track moves away from the 'dance' genre set down by it's predecessors 'One Love' and '(No Good) Start The Dance' with the use of live guitars.

The B-sides are outstanding with a remix by the Chemical Brothers (formally the Dust Brothers) which has a completely different sound with heavier slower beats, with the only similarity to the original being the lyrics. The other B-side, a sequel to a track (The Heat, The Energy) on the Music for The Jilted Generation album, called Goa is a hard track with an acidic techno sound.

My only disappointment is that the single did not feature the track - Speedway (Secret Knowledge Remix), which is featured on the American Import of this single. This could have replaced the final track, which is an extended version of the first track (and is also available on the album). But all in all, a must for any Prodigy fan.

This is a great song from a great album (music for the gilted generation). Rat Poison and the Chemical Brothers remix(by the way, I rarely like the Chemical Brothers but this remix is one of their best) are excellent. NO Good is great too even though it may take u a few listens to get used to it(pay no attention to the title of this song because it bears absolutely no resemblence to the original No Good). Speedway is repetitive but it is good when you are in the mood for it. Track 1 is perhaps unneccessary though because it is almost identical to the last track. Anyway, this is a great deal.

A good buy 23 Jan 2000

I had been looking for this CD for a while and finally got around to buying it. Over all I am very glad I did. First off if you haven't heard the title track, you need to come out of your cave more often. It's a great song. Although I enjoy most of the songs on this single there are a few clunkers. The CJ Bolland Museum Remix of No Good (Start the Dance)is not all that great, although it is still decent. The same goes for Speedway (Theme From Fastlane) (Secret Knowledge Remix). But the real crock of *CENSORED* is the Haiti Island Remix of Voodoo People. There are hardly any rythmic changes, new samples or anything else that set apart vanilla remixes from outstanding ones. Basically the Voodoo People (Haiti Island Remix) amounts to Voodoo People with an extra synth line. Then theres Rat Poison and Voodoo People (Chemical Brothers Remix). Wow are these great. I'd tell you which is the best song on the single but I can't there both so good. Rat Poison has a good guitar line and great beats. The Chemical Brothers Remix of Voodoo People. This has all the things that I look for in a good remix. New rythems, new synth lines and basically a new melody (ok maybe I don't think of a new melody when I think of a good remix but it helps). Over all I recomend this CD to new or old Prodigy fans.

By the way sorry for any grammatical or typing errors because I'm sure I didn't catch all of them.
