5.0 out of 5 stars The best videocompilation - again! 26 Nov 2002
Format:DVD
Volumen 2 is an updated version of Björk's greatest musicvideos "Volumen" from 1999.
It is almost needless to say, that these are some of the best, most innovative videos ever made. Björk is always able to find and collaborate with groundbreaking artists (not only directors as but remixers, producers etc. as well)
Take for instance the "All is full of love" video - Chris Cunningham have created a modern classic. Even some of my friends (who hates Björk!!!) admits, that this musicvideo is the best they've ever seen.
Until now "Alarm call" has only been available on VHS or on a special japanese 2 dvd edition of Volumen.

The tracklist is as follows:

01. Human behaviour (directed by Michel Gondry)
02. Venus as a boy (Sophie Muller)
03. Play dead (Danny Cannon)
04. Big time sensuality (Stéphane Sednaoui)
05. Violently happy (Jean-Baptiste Mondino)
06. Army of me (Michel Gondry)
07. Isobel (Michel Gondry)
08. It's oh so quiet (Spike Jonze)
09. Hyperballad (Michel Gondry)
10. Possibly maybe (Stéphane Sednaoui)
11. I miss you (John Kricfalusi)
12. Joga (Michel Gondry)
13. Bachelorette (Michel Gondry)
14. Hunter (Paul White)

All tracks above is also available on the old Volumen.
The soundquality is 2.0 PCM (stereo).

15. Alarm call (Directed by Alexander McQueen - 2.0 PCM)
16. All is full of love (Chris Cunningham - 2.0 PCM)
17. Hidden place (Inez van Lamsweerde, Vinoodh Matadin & M/M (Paris) - 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround sound)
18. Pagan poetry (Nick Knight - 5.1)
19. Cocoon (Eiko Ishioka - 5.1)
20. It's in our hands (Spike Jonze - 2.0 PCM)
21. Nature is ancient (LynnFox - 2.0 PCM)

The last 7 tracks is also available on a new dvd called "Volumen+", ment to all of those, who already owns the old Volumen.
I had hoped that all tracks was remixed in DD 5.1, but at least the 2.0 PCM have a high quality, so if you're concidering buying this dvd instead of her greatest hits cd, the sound is no obstacle.

Enjoy! (the hardcore and the gentle)

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely stuff 25 Aug 2004
Format:DVD
This is simply mindblowing - thank god someone made the decision to put these vids on DVD. This disc spans a good portion of Bjork's musical career and will amaze you in it's depth, here is the work of one woman who has constantly evolved in her love of music. To name a few of delights on offer we get the tribal pound of Human Behaviour, the weird but awesome Army of Me, the stunning beauty of Joga and the emotion of her Vespertine vids. In my personal opinion Michel Gondry captures the Bjork essence perfectly as his vids seem to tap into the mood of the song. Bjork obviously seems to think so too as he directs a large batch of the vids on this DVD. Don't think twice about buying this, even if you're not a fan you'd be hard pressed not to appreciate the art and beauty in this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic. Splendid. Terrific. Electrifying 8 May 2004
Format:DVD
I am a huge fan of Bjork and you should be too. This DVD has all her single releases and consequently the songs are slightly shorter than the album versions.

However, the quality of the videos is breathtaking, with directors such as Michel Gondry, Chris Cunningham and Spike Jonze all capturing the spirit of Bjork's beautiful music with much grace and aplomb.

And that is the bottom line. If you like Bjork's music you'll probably welcome a visual interpretation of songs like Possibly Maybe and Joga. If not - well, like I said, you should.
