Being more of a metal head, I'd not really heard of or heard any Omni Trio, but after reading so many other raving reviews I decided to try this album as it appears to be a bit of a 'best of affair'. And wow, this up there in LTJ Bukem territory.
I suspect for more seasoned dance heads, this album isn't the best as it's all been released before, but for people who are just starting to listen to D&B this is a great starting point (along with Logical progression and the Metalheadz LP's).
Great melodies, good variation in the breaks and beats. Not too Jazzy and not too heavy either, Rob haigh's work treads the fine line of listenability very well. Especially for those who aren't into this scene big time.
The remixes on CD2 are quite tasty as well, so it's not a complete turn off for existing Omni trio fans.
I'm well pleased with this purchase.

Major player 18 Sept. 2004

Along with LTJ Bukem, Omni Trio is one of the major players in the ambient drum and bass scene and this collection shows why! All the big tunes are here, from Mystic Stepper and Renegade Snares through to Trippin on Broken Beats and later classics like Nu Birth and Breakbeat Etiquette.
All the tracks contain the Omni hallmarks of precision breakbeats, haunting melodies, killer riffs and dubby basslines. The mix CD that accompanies this collection is a masterpiece in itself, seamlessly mixed it is a journey into atmospheric drum and bass.

You don't have to be into drum and bass to get this music - such is the timeless nature of these productions. Having said that, if you only ever buy one drum and bass CD - make sure it's this one, you won't be disappointed!
it is sth 4 your mind & body 25 Feb. 2006

...if you're looking for some good old-fashioned smooth dynamic light drum'n'bass you found it.

Especially 2nd CD may cheer you up since this is mix of 22 tracks from omni trio discography. When you listen to 2nd CD you just can't quit 'till its over and then you hear 22nd track Thru the Vibe (John B Mix) that hype you up so intensely that you just wanna go one more and after that on and on 'till you ears can't take any more. Peaceful sanctuary & meltdown will let you compose yourself and prepare for another bout of euphoria. Very addictive compilation. If you like those old vibes you won't be dissapointed.
