I bought this board for my 10 year old son. He did not want a 'kids' board yet I was not prepared to invest a large amount of money in a board until I knew he was serious about 'proper' skateboarding.
This board is perfect, it's up there with the professional boards and is great value. The top features that black grippy top surface to help them grip and stay put and the wheels allow for flexibility in turning and moves.
My son has now joined a skateboarding club and this board is exactly what is needed as a serious beginner.

this skateboard has only been used for 6 days and it has already snapped i am a beginner who can only ollie and pop shuvit but for some reason i was just riding it and i went down a curb and it snapped it has ok bearings so it would be ok for someone who just wants to ride and not do tricks but come on 6 DAYS IS JUST BAD i wouldnt recommend it to someone like me who just wants to learn tricks ps. it chipped in 3 days
