Product Description
This pen is designed for electrical testing and detects voltages in outlets, light fixings, circuit breakers, wires etc, without touching metal. It is used to identify if the conductor is live or not. The pen is made of plastic and, therefore, the surface of the pen is non-conductive for safety.

AC Voltage Detector 90V~1000V Tester Pen Stick Probe
Used this item as soon as it arrived, solved my lighting problem at the stroke of a pen. Glad I purchased two, one to give to my son who is also delighted.

Having struggled for years with screwdrivers with embedded (almost invisible) neons, I'm really impressed with this device.
I've had neon-embedded screwdrivers over the years, but I was fed up with trying to shield them from the surrounding light while I peer carefully to see if that dim glow was alight or merely just a reflection. The crunch came when I had to fix the pond pump which had a dodgy connection (I installed it in a rush ten years ago), so I was working near water with 240V wires with a power source that I suspected was broken. As it happens, it wasn't - it was alive, indicating that the problem lay somewhere else, and that the danger was in front of me.
This device is fully insulated, so it's a lot safer to use. And it works by proximity, so that I didn't have to make direct contact with the 240V wire - when the probe gets as close as 3mm, it will light up - brightly. And it's sensitive enough that I can tell which wire is actually conducting the current. All these things are important when working with lethal voltage levels.
A great product, which arrived promptly, and the guys behind it obviously care about the product. Well done.

Great product at the price. No on-off switch or buzzer but it works as advertised and runs on 2 AAA batteries.

It is good regarding the price
This detector is not sensitive (especially with shielded wires) and has no beeping sound. But for the price there is nothing more you could expect. Looking for another.

Cheap rubbish!!!!
Should have known by the price that something was gonna be wrong with this item. Has only a 50% chance of being accurate, put it near a mains-cable it might glow, it might not. Read more

keep safe

Easy View
The great thing about this detector is the illumionation which gives an easy view of voltage presence. The neon in my old screwdriver was hard to spot in bright conditions.
