If you're looking for Haynes manual ease of reference, and step by step instruction, I think this is a poor second, but in the absence of the former, it was virtually the only choice. There is no routine maintenence/servicing schedule provided. My initial intention in buying the manual was to undertake a simple oil and filter change, but finding out how to do this was particularly unintuitive as I flicked through the pages, there being no obvious section covering this procedure. One has to refer to 2 or 3 unrelated sections of the book. Had I not had some mechanical knowledge on vehicle mechanics already, I would have been in the dark!

Not as detailed as I expected.
The photos/digrams were only of limited value.
Exploded diagrams needed to show more detail of complex parts.
The task of replacing compents such as the clutch slave cylinder were not detailed enough (prior items to be removed before the main task, spread across the manual and not clearly referenced)

I purchased this book so I could perform simple repairs on my '98 Caravelle and so I would know what was required when getting things fixed.
There is nothing in this manual about the syncro system. I have twin rear doors which aren't featured. There is nothing about the exhaust system, the rear a/c system, second battery, sunroof or seats.
This is the first and last Brooklands book I shall be purchasing.

Not what I'd call a proper Workshop manual
I've bought Workshop manuals in the past and considered them better than the Haynes equivalent. Not in this case. Read more

Far From Ideal
