Useful but not very clear. 2 Mar 2010

Useful book, but as the previous reviewer stated the pictures could have been a lot clearer. The descriptions are clear and in the usual Haynes set-up giving details of all the parts and jobs that you may have a go at. All in all if you fancy getting your hands dirty and own a beetle then this is a must.

This is an OK book which is unfortunately ruined somewhat by unclear black and white photo's of procedures and parts. I later bought 'How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive: A Manual of Step-by-step Procedures for the Compleat Idiot' which is a far better investment.

One of the best books I've found on mechanics. Recomended. 25 May 1999

This is a well written, easy to read hard cover book I've ever seen. The only "not so good" thing about it are b/w photographs. But that's not a real problem. I recommend this book to anyone who likes beetle and has no problem to get "hands dirty" of oil.
