A Future Classic

This album even though not as well received as other albums by this group is a diamond in the rough. It is jazzy B and co.'s musical maturity at its peak. This album is a must for collectors of future classics, because the 12th track on this album is destined for that honour, look out for samples of this track in the future. Even if it is for track 12 alone, this is a must buy, it is better than past and later outings by this group even though unfortunately underestimated.

This CD is excellent. The tracks are tight, the grooves are funky and the vocals are wonderful. Caron Wheeler is back and featured on 3 of the tracks. But the other female vocalists are very good as well. I love the instrumental pieces as usual, and they have added more of the Caribbean/African sound in the music again-which I originally remembered them for. The music quality on 'Vol II' was much weaker and only some of the songs were strong. So I was very happy to hear this CD. This CD is a wonderful listening experience. Except for 1 or 2 songs ('Be A Man' for example) I loved ALL of the tracks. 'Be A Man' is actually a good song as well-I just tend to favor their faster tempo songs,and this is more like a ballad. If you are a "Soul II Soul" fan you will love this CD.
