Anyone who has ever seriously attempted to learn a language will know that listening and pronunciation are integral to understanding another tongue. I bought this in good faith, like my Spanish book, to have some audio supplement, whether CD, downloadable on the web, whatever - instead I am told I am strongly recommended to buy the audio supplement, why for a mere £30?! For JUST £30, you can actually hear what you're meant to pronounce. Absolute rip off and dupe! There are plenty more cheaper options available, like Palgrave, that INCLUDE an audio CD. Incredibly dissatisfied.

An excellent book well set out and simply explained. In use every day; a must for those wishing to learn French painlessly and enjoyably. I would recommend this to any adult (over 16) it will even help you if you are still at school. Wonderful value at such a great price.
The grammar and real true to life examples make the book an excellent guide to anothe foreign language. Learning is quick and the book's layout helps to embed learning and retention of knowledge.

I ordered this book on the back of the reviews made by others. However, upon receiving it earlier today, I really do feel that the CD will be required as there are so many parts that say listen to this, listen to that, etc. I will have to have a proper look at it but so far, it doesn't look as easy as everyone has made it out to be, either that or I am getting too old to try and learn another language!
