I guess this book is something of a revamped classic. There's still traces of the "old school" left - such as the hilarious section that advises how to choose patterns "most becoming of your figure" but all in all, it contains pretty much everything you'll ever need to know in terms of techniques, with easy to follow pictures and instructions. The only thing I would say is that it's more aimed towards people using traditional patterns (Vogue, Simplicity etc) and doesn't have anything in the way of revamping old clothes or customising/personalising ready-made patterns, unlike some of the new generation sewing books that are coming out. But for general sewing techniques it's excellent.
