A beautiful book, as well as very useful and easy to use. Stitches are collected into progressive grades of difficulty, beautifully illustrated with large sized swatches that show the stitch pattern and the edges so you can see how the stitch shapes the swatch edge. There's something inspirational for everyone from the newbie knitter to the experienced enough to design their own garments - I'm somewhere in the low-middle of that range. All the instructions are written out clearly, no poxy charts - bliss! - and it has the reference glossary you'd expect. The book is beautifully designed and presented: a hard cover with illustrated dust jacket, and printed on high-quality paper, it looks good on the bookshelf. On unpacking it I straightaway ordered its cable patterns partner but have dropped heavy hints for someone to buy me the next in the series (of four), the colour knitting patterns. Altogether very giftable, and I have no connection with Vogue, just re-learning knitting now I've retired from work.
