I wanted a phone for texts and calls that looked nice and didn't want to spend loads of money for it. The phone is exactly what I expected, doesn't have too many functions that I'll never use and am glad the ring tone is quite low as I work in an office and it would annoy my colleagues having it going off every 2 minutes, after all I want to make calls, not necessarily answer them all the time. Very happy with my buy.

This 'phone is very cheap. It has easy to use tiny buttons which are a real boon when writing texts. I have somewhat chubby fingers and yet I rarely make a mistake because of the keyboard's size.
The volume is reasonable,if a little basey at times. The ring tones are not to my taste but that's a personal comment of course.
I do think that the text alert tone is too short and not very loud.
The menu is easy to follow and the screen,with the white background, is very easy to see - although,of course, like all LED screens, hard to read in direct sunlight.It also has large numbers appear on the screen when pressing number keys to dial out.If you set the letters to appear in capitals they are much easier to read: very clear indeed.
I bought this because I wanted a cheap 'phone that would enable me to make calls and send and receive text messages: It's pretty good at both. I use mine with a contract SIM card and it works fine,though it does come with it's own PAYG card.

First of all I have to admit I didn't buy this from Amazon...Sorry! and it cost 3p more at £10.
OK they say you get what you pay for and for this sort of money My hopes were not too high.....WRONG! I agree with the reviewer who said the instruction sheet (can't call it a manual) was a little tiny in the print department, however even with my 66 yr old eyes I managed to sort the phone out to my satisfaction and I am sure that a lot of folk wont even need the instructions at all as this phone is simplicity itself.It does two of the things I require from a mobile phone it makes and takes calls,and makes and takes texts,both of these tasks are simplicity itself and does not require any technical knowhow.No touchscreen,Internet,e-mail, camera or apps on this baby at all,and you wouldn't expect them at this price
One of the reasons I purchased these phones (one for my wife too) was our previous mobiles (at 4 times the price of these) needed the battery recharging almost on a daily basis and we were fed up with them,the only extra thing the previous phones had over this one was a third rate camera, so that was no loss at all.Now, the Battery life on these phones is a dream! I have only had to recharge mine twice in nearly 4 weeks and even then it still had 2 thirds of its charge left!
If you need a stand by mobile or a basic phone for your kids,yourself or anyone at all you will not go wrong with this one.

good basic value
perfect for me, clear face, qwerty keys and looks quite modern and slim. On top of that its pay as you go and it cost me about £20 what more could you ask for.

For the cost, the minor flaws of this phone seem petty to raise
I got my first mobile in 1993 which required 4 AA batteries per day. Obviously there have been mammoth advances since then, but some of them are not what everyone wants. Read more
