Before i go any further, the answer to this question is a resounding 'Yes'!
As a 54 year old, I've been running all my life, since the age of 6. I'd always believed that there was only one way to run - put on a pair of shoes or boots and do it - forgetting (until I saw a colleague 2 winters ago wearing wierd looking toed Vibram barefoot shoes) that there is an alternative. As kids how did we run on the beach or on those rare summer days outdoors when temperatures may have soared to 22 degrees? Of course we can run barefooted!
I decided to turn back to nature, did a little research and decided to give Vivobarefoot a try. One of my better decisions in recent years! I have recently purchased a pair of Breathos for lunchtime running and have just ordered the Freaks for home use at the weekend.
To put it in a nutshell, barefoot running is great - it is faster, it is more kinetically efficient, and above all it is more enjoyable! There is a real enhanced sense of freedom - I am confident that this is not just novelty fooling our tired, jaundiced consumer senses.
But there are some points to consider. The first is shoe sizing. Whereas I firmly recommend taking one size larger with Salomon shoes, I do not support the assertions of some reviewers that Vivos are lasted on the small size. I checked with Isaac in SportshoesUnlimited - he advised taking my normal shoe size. However, the essence of barefoot running is the requirement to modify one's lifelong running style. This is not difficult but it does require some thought and application. Watch the videos and remember that posture (a much more upright attitude with a fixed, immobile head) is the very key. And follow the advice of those who know - ease into this new way to move gradually and progressively.

After many years of salomon trail trainers i looked at the price this year and said to myself ... no thanks, i am not going to spend £80+ pounds on a pair of trainers that i will chuck away after 12 months use (thier pricing is just to greedy).

Yes, yes and yes ... the color is outragous and i have certainlly got a few looks out on the trails, but so what? my feet are on fire ...

In terms of useabilty i am a convert. Not having half an inch of plastic on your heals means that your feet can read the ground better (improving your running) and less likely to sprain an an ankle when on an uneven surface. Yes, its takes it out of your calf muscles, but i prefere this to haveing my knee joints ground down to a pulp. Still early days but i can say hand on heart that i am doing some of my best running with these very sexy shoes.

Excellent running shoe. But be warned, if you are not used to running on your toes you will feel in the morning.
I have been running on my toes for awhile now but still had very stiff calf muscles

In short I am extremely pleased with this purchases. Speedy delivery and looks great. Very comfortable and so far very durable; have been running with them for about two weeks now over grass and on the road and they still look like new.

Just one word of caution; take it easy when you first go out running in them as they really work your calves muscles unlike normal running shoes where running tends to be a heal-toe strike. These shoes allow you to run more naturally, running on the ball of your foot and not heal striking the ground. I ran 3 miles when i first bought them and it felt great, until the morning where i really felt the work out in my calves ( took 3 days before i could go out again). Lesson learned; i should have listened to the other reviewers who advised to take it easy when i you first start, specially if your not use to this type of running.

Overall great product and a recommend buy.

This is the first time I have used one of these "barefoot" shoes.

To be honest, it doesn't exactly make you feel like you're running barefeet like the advertising seems to suggest but I must admit these are great running shoes. They are comfortable and very durable too. I have worn mine to play indoor 5 a side footie a number of times and ithey feel a lot more comfy than my Adidas indoor football boots.

I think buying these shoes is money well spent.
