this was the 1st proper digital camera I had ever owned, I now have a nikon d90 and a olympus tough but this was pretty decent.
If your expecting amazing settings and programmable modes then your going to be disappointed but for £25 it's so worth it. Photo quality is decent but not great for portrait and it has what I call "ghetto macro" which is a manual slider on the side that changes how close the lens is allowing a very large macro distance which is improved over normal settings but again don't expect super macro.
the flash works better than the olympus tough I have, since it's right over the lens it can give good exposure in darkness but again auto flash will flash at most lights. I'm most astonished by the landscape photos, the 8mp size gives massive photos on the system the provide which isn't great quality but it's nice to have a massive photo sometimes. This camera definately works best at landscape work though.
All in all, if you want a simple camera (not like for 6 year olds but for like 11+) that works well and lasts (I got mine 2 ears ago, dropped it down a cave in Iceland and my brother shot it with a bb gun 13 times and all thats happened is a few lines on the screen have appeared in the corner. Overall great
only small thing is that the sd card slot has no cover so dust and stuff can get in
